With all due respect (?) to those of you who want to toss the term "choking" around when referring to the Tribe, why don't you just FUCK OFF!

Seriously, I'm one of those sad saps who absolutely love these guys no matter who's on the field. The devil still owes me one (Jose mesa saved it for awhile) because I sold my soul a long time ago to see the Buckeyes win a NC and the Tribe win a World Series. This team is NOT choking. "Choking" is having something won and then basically pissing it away. They have been in a dogfight for the past 2 weekswith the Yanks and Boston. This team is just suffering from the fact that they are not a good situational hitting team. Smoke, Mirrors, and the Home Run have gotten them by the past 2 months. The Home Run has abondoned them, and they are in trouble.

That being said:
GO TRIBE!!

GO YANKEES!!!

This year will be considered a success no matter what happens. No one predicted us to contend this early and for awhile we were playin like the best team in the bigs. Although the money we would receive from post-season home games would be huge, we're gonna be just fine. Plus we've got a genius at GM in Shapiro who will make the deals necessary to improve this team even further for next year... I'm just going to assume the worse for tomorrow, that way if we win and boston loses, we'll be pumped up and have C.C goin into Boston for the playoff looking to get us into the post season. And if it doesn't happen we can still look back on a hell of a season.

Dubs, when we play one of the worst teams in baseball (Tampa Bay), at home, with everything that was at stake, and lose two of three to them, to me that's choking at the opportunity. And then we face Chicago, who had already clinched the division and started seven bench players against us, and we still lose two one-run games to them, again that's choking at the opportunity. All the accomplishments of the past two months means shit if we don't cash them in.

This might end up being a bigger choke job that the White Sox debacle over the past few months. It clearly came down to inexperience with young players trying too hard to get the big hit or make the big play. I'm pround of the way this team has come together over the past few months and can't wait for spring training.

dammit, sometimes being a fan of Ohio Sports sucks...(i.e. the choking)

the offense was absolutely ridiculous the last week of the season. Unbelievable how un-clutch they were. The number of runners left on base and in scoring position was just crazy.

This was a pure Choke job. Good pitching, horrible hitting.

93 wins is nice (real nice), sucks about not making the playoffs, but they had their chances. Nothing to do about it now, just have to look forward to next year, should be another great one.
