Iowa State 23, Iowa 3 (final)

NFBuck

Total Coverage.
  • Hawkeyes down 9-0 early. Cyclones dominating in the trenches, and Tate looks like he's hurt. Gotta hope the Hawkeye's pull this out though, a loss to a (lower tier) Big 12 team is unacceptable.

Iowa State played in the Big XII title game last year, and finished 7-5. I don't believe they're as bad as you think, but I'm a little surprised at how well they're battling the Hawks at the line of scrimmage.

This is true, but I have trouble seeing them as higher than second tier. They won a WEAK North division. I would say they are about the equivalent of a Michigan St. or Minnesota. I could be wrong however, they are looking really good today.

i could have sworn that they blew it, and Colorado won the North...

Remember, Iowa State beat Iowa in 2002, when the Hawkeyes were (allegedly) the best team in the Big Ten....

    Remember? How could I forget?

Had they not, Iowa would've played Miami instead of us, because "everyone knew" Iowa was better than the Buckeyes. Iowa would've been ranked ahead of us, and we would've been screwed over, if not for the Cyclones.

Well, with Drew Tate out, this is no measure of Iowa. The replacement quarterback is clearly out of his depth. That overthrow on the last series was incredibly badly thrown.

Running backs and line have to step up or this puppy is over.
