I've got the iHome and have been very happy with it. Haven't had any problems and have had it over two years. It's not hi tech and won't please audiophiles, but it does what I need it to do and doesn't take up too much counter space in the kitchen.

I just bought the Altec Lansing inMotion IM5 for my office, and if you're looking for quality but compact speakers, this is a great deal. You can plug it in or use batteries, and it comes with a bunch of international plugs.

It's originally $120, but Buy.com has it for $40.

At work I have the iHome, it has really good sound and gets great AM/FM, plus has an alarm clock. Overall it's a great system but costs $100.00, which to me is a little pricy for something I leave at the office. Someone got me a hundred dollar gift card for circuit city so I decided to go with it.

At home, I have the Bose SoundDock system, has really great and powerful sound, if you like the "bose sound" those who have a bose system will understand what I mean, Bose kind of dictates how the High's and Low's should sound in your music and gives you very little control over it. As a friend who installs car stereos said to me "No highs and no lows, must be Bose." Me though, I love it, and don't see where people can complain.

Couple of more expensive options.
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Peachtree-iDecco-Black-Integrated-Amplifier/dp/B0035CIO3A"]Amazon.com: Peachtree Audio iDecco Gloss Black Stereo Integrated Amplifier With Built-In DAC and iPod Dock: MP3 Players & Accessories[/ame]
Nedds speakers.

And AudioEngine powered speakers. Plug your IPod right into them. $199
Kills the cheaper stuff!

Not a fan of the layout of those powered speakers with the volume control in the rear, but I am interested in that N22 amp. I'd been looking at the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Dayton-DTA-100a-Class-T-Digital-Amplifier/dp/B004JK8BDK/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1323265371&sr=8-12"]Dayton 100[/ame] for my PC for a long time, but wasn't thrilled with the idea of a Class T amp. That N22 appears to be a dual class A/B amp with a lot more I/O options on the back, plus the option of adding a WiFi adapter. That's super-flexible.

Might wind up getting that N22 and a pair of Inifinity Primus bookshelf speakers for my new computer with my Christmas bonus. Merry Christmas to me. :)

Dayton makes some good sounding cheap speakers also.

EDIT: I want this, and I want to have my iPod lowered into the dock from the ceiling like Tiny Stonehenge.

Does Behringer make better audio equipment than they do guitar-related stuff? If not, that thing will be a pain in the ass to send back for repairs. :tongue2:
