Kirk Ferentz - The University of Iowa coach is signed through 2015 but has been rumored for NFL openings since 2006. Each time his name surfaces as a possibility, he quickly shoots it down.
 He will win the Coach of the Year awards by improving to 4 wins, 6 wins, and 8 wins in the next 3 seasons respectively.

Jim Tressel - Some will snicker at the thought of having a coach who departed Ohio State in disgrace, but he is a proven winner, and the NFL is about that bottom line. Tressel has been on the Colts staff as a replay assistant since October.

Bucknut, I've got to add the paragraph above it to put it in context.

But this is the interesting part. The source explained that owner Jim Irsay likes Tressel and does want him to have some sort of role in the organization (a new head coach will have some say in that of course). Which is, well, incredible. If you remember Tressel resigned as Ohio State coach after it was determined the Buckeyes had numerous rules violations under his watch. Ohio State later self-vacated its entire 2010 season.

I don't understand why this is coming as a surprise to people in the media. You don't hire someone with Tressel's resume' to sit in the replay booth forever.. and I don't think Tressel would take that job without thinking more could be in the future.
