Jim Tressel (National Champion, ex-President, Youngstown State University, CFB HOF)

This blows. I now hate the players that got Jimmy T fired. All over some shit that he didn't even initiate. Unbelievable the hate around cfb for one of the best guys in the biz.

College football just got a little less awesome with his resignation.

College football just lost a good man.

OSU just lost the best head coach I've ever seen since I started watching the bucks in 1980.

I will now begin my mourning process.

Not surprising to me, and it was the right move. I believe (or at least hope) that he lasted this long so that the program could get a successor in place. I also believe (or at least hope) that this move will reduce the NCAA sanctions.

Well, to be fully honest, I thought he would survive up until the Ray Small deal came out. After that one hit, I began to think that one would be the proverbial last straw.

From the Press Release:

Jim Tressel said, "After meeting with University officials, we agreed that it is in the best interest of Ohio State that I resign as head football coach."

Putting on my speculator glasses, I'm guessing that 'we agreed' is going to be a hot topic of discussion in the coming days.

Much love for JT and many thanks. This was not welcomed but it was the only thing to be done. Fickell by all accounts should do a good job. I hope these knuckle heads that brought the heat down on coach Tress bust some ass out there. JT you are missed already.

and dudes that post from other schools stay off this one we don't fucking want to hear it right now!

Farewell Coach Tressel

As a Notre Dame fan, I always appreciated Tressel's class and dignity while he coached. He was a model for respect and how to run a great program. He quickly rose to the level of of a top five coach in the country and earned all of his praises. His track record is tremendous through his tenure at OSU and it was a pleasure to watch him run his teams. He will be sorely missed and I hope that people can see past his recent mistakes. He deserves to be remembered for his accomplishments on the field, not a series of poor choices in recent months.

Farewell Coach Tressel. To me, you will always be the class act coach who should be remembered as a well respected, great coach. You deserves this. After this dies down in a year or two, you will land on your feet and probably lead another team to national prominence. You are a still a class act to me.

"The appreciation that Ellen and I have for the Buckeye Nation is immeasurable." Quote Former Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel, His winning percentage of .828 was better than the legendary Woody Hayes (.761).
Unbelievable...........
