Joe Haden (Cleveland Browns)

Rivals $

5/9

In a breakdown of the PSU Nike combine, Joe is noted as finishing second in the SPARQ ratings with an 86.22. Also, his brother Josh ('08) is noted as a player to watch.

Interesting. The SPARQ site lists the following as the top ratings of all Nike camps so far:

http://www.sparqtraining.com/page.asp?SID=1&Page=175

Code:
Josh Haden RB Friendly MD 111.52
Joe Haden QB Friendly MD 110.22
Greg Little WR Hillside NC 101.77
Alex Forte LB Malvern Prep PA 100.54
Blaine Irby ATH St. Bonaventure CA 97.71

Phillip Ofili DB Cypress Creek TX 93.99
Taylor Charbonnet DB The Woodlands TX 93.59

Looks like Joe and Josh are both top-notch athletes.

"Big Ears" and "Big Guns."

They both look like really solid athletes.

Joe talks about what the offer from tOSU meant to him. Coach Fickell is recruiting him, and was at his school as recently as last week. tOSU's coaches are comparing him with Troy Smith. Joe says the Buckeyes are recruiting him as an ATH to play in the slot, as a DB, or even at QB.

This one is from our point-of-view :wink2:

westbuck04 - this should answer your question a little...

AMP feature...film of Joe at the Elite College Combine and the Nike Combine at State College as well as some high school clips.

My take: Joe's future is at WR or DB, not QB. He does not have nearly the arm to play QB at a place like OSU. He is such a fast athlete, he needs to be a slot WR, in my opinion. I still like this offer a lot...get him here and find a spot for him. He looks impressive in the 1v1 drills lining up at WR.

Anyone seen any film of this guy as a quarterback? Maybe Troy has spoiled me, but I've definitely become a big fan of the dual-threat qb's...hopefully Joe has a little Troy in him!

I like him out at slot just like Gonzo is doing right now personally so I'm in the same boat with grad. He could play defense but he is to explosive with the ball to play defense imo.

If anyone has seen his video then you know that he is a QB prospect with a live arm. He really has zip on his throws. IMO he is best suited for WR/CB though because he is only about 5-10. Very quick and good vision. Farrell over at Rivals said Florida leads the pack right now with Pitt close behind. IMO he stays in the Coast Region....maybe Va Tech, UNC or UVA.

I guess I need to see more film. What I saw was not what I would call a "live arm"...I'd say he has a decent arm, but nothing like the cannon I've seen suggested by some insiders. He looked a bit like a baseball player throwing a football to me in the videos I have seen. Regardless, we are in agreement that because of his speed and size he would be better suited as a WR. I would be surprised to see him anywhere other than Va Tech, UVA or Florida.

I gotta disagree. He throws good for a high school prospect but he isn't good enough to play QB at a major program.

Rivals has recently updated Joe's statistical profile, based on his performance at the Nike combine in State College last month:

Bench max: 345 pounds
Bench reps: 16
Squat max: 535 pounds
Vertical leap: 37 inches
