Just Curious: What's your honest opinion of LSU?

including Larry Coker, Nick saban at an awful alabama team, Steve Spurrier at an average SC team, and Phil fulmer at a once not so distance 4 win ball club is not an elite level of coaches.

Here are the coaches in today's world you can be proud of coming out on top on.

1. Jim Tressel
2. Pete Carrol
3. Bob stoops (I'll give you that one)
4. maybe Mack Brown.

The coaches you've listed at one time were great/good. But then why don't we throw out Joe Paterno, Lloyd Carr, Bobby Bowden, and Mike Beloite? Just because they've had elite teams in the past doesn't make them elite coaches today. I'll also give you Urban Myers as well. I don't think Les Miles will be intimidated, but I think Les' style of coaching is not favorable against a more conservative coach (tressel).

as aluded to earlier there should be some absolutely viscious hitting. OSU's fast and strong LB's against Hester and company and Dorsey, Highsmith & company against Wells and the rest of the OSU O. biggest question mark in my mind is who wins TOP. that in my mind is the key.

LSU is blessed with "speed" but so is OSU. one or two plays makes the difference in this game.

Agree... but then, 2007 Ohio State is a little more talented than the 2004 team. :wink2:

Ahh yes... our "transition year"

Ughh... rough times.

We still have Lydell in '04?

There's the damned answer.

Ohio State Fans

I've read the post on what LSU fans think of the Buckeyes, but what about vise-versa? What is your honest opinion of LSU's team?

I think that the Tigers are vastly overrated, they were exposed with those two overtime losses, (which the good teams always win, I.E. the 2002 Buckeyes) I think that they are just media darlings and everyone for some reason wants to see this team succeed no matter what.

Oh yeah don't you know that they are faster then OSU too, I mean a 4-40 isn't as fast in Ohio then it is in Lousiana.

I admit that LSU has played quite a few games where they did not dominate like was expected of them. That said we will get them at their healthiest since the VT game. I know VT improved bunches since then, but LSU crushed them.

LSU is big strong and fast with terrific athletes all over the field. I think both teams match up well and are similar in style, but I fear that LSU has been tested by tougher competition (hope I'm wrong) As many have already said, this game will be won in the trenches (like last years Fla game actually was) and this is where last years debacle (and the chips on our guys shoulders should help motivate tOSU)

I really like Pelini, but his defenses were not good in the red-zone, and how will his being the Nebraska coach affect them?

This sets up as a classic hard hitting smash mouth ball game

someone.... please.... go look at VT's offensive stats and look how dreadful they are on offense. They aren't just bad on offense, they're pathetic. Watching VT vs. LSU is not the game you want to watch to get a feel for a Healthy LSU. Look last year Florida won the SEC with a relatively healthy UF squad in the same fashion with all the close games. THERE'S NO SHAME in winning games close and it's easy to say "LSU would've blown everyone out had they been healthy".

I mean as an OSU fan we could sit here and say "if we would've had a healthy defense we would've shut every team out". That'd be unfair to the players who filled in for our injured players if we would've at the end of the year gave excuses for their play. So be proud about your teams effort, and appreciate what those "back up" did for your team. Afterall they did get ya'll to a NCG. I mean what I'm saying is LSU is a great great ball team probably the most talented in the nation, but geez can we lay off the "had we been healthy" talk??
