Then we'd be fine with a grayshirt frosh Buchanan Thoma could fill in if Trapasso gets hurt in 08.

What happens if a starting OL gets hurt in 09?
- Only 5 current OL will still be around
- Schollies available: 2008 - 13 (before attrition). 2009 - 25+.

That's why many hope Buchanan would be willing to grayshirt, especially since he'd be on the bench anyway in 08.

I didn't realize Buchanan could punt as well. This is a great pickup even with limited scholarships.

Nice pickup, this is a two for one deal (punter and kicker). From reading the article, it doesnt' sound like he will be greyshirted.

It just continues to show the importance JT puts on special teams. I mean how many teams with 14-17 ships have a spot and the first one to boot for a kicker / punter. Excellent.

Now because he was actually offered and accepted does that rule out a greyshirt or am I misunderstanding some of the above posts? I mean, with Trapasso and Pretorius/Pettrey right now we have no kicking needs so it makes sense to lock Ben in for the future but in a year with only 13 scholarships available as of now? I hate the way this post reads but they're my legitimate questions. :(
