Ken Griffey Jr. (MLB HOF)

Honestly I would like to see him try First base...

But I don't see that happening...

I think Freel in CF is much better for the team tho...

I agree on both. The only problem I see is that Freel gives up too much playing CF and it will effect his production at the plate. But, we are a "pitching and D" first team now :wink2: .

I agree, but after playing a couple seasons where he is getting more playing time, I don't see his body breaking down as much, and also hopefully he knows his limitations by now.

Either way more balls will be caught in CF this year than in years past and as we have seen with the Cardinals a great defensive CF can make your defense pretty damn good...

I'm extremely pleased to hear that he is open to the idea of moving to right. I thought that this was the big hurdle to clear in terms of the move ever happening.

I really like the idea of Freel in center and Griff in right. This will allow Griff to hopefully avoid injury and get him in more games.

While I agree that Freel moving to center could and probably will hurt his production at the plate, I also believe that Griffey will more than make up for Freel's lost offensive production.

Nothing bad can come from this but Narron will find a way to F it up

I'd rather give Deno some time in CF to see what he can do with the bat. Griffey/Freel in RF because JR just won't be healthy that much. The days when Deno is in CF and Freel is in RF we'll have some serious speed and range in the outfield(except for Dunn but thats ok by me).

Regardless of if its Freel or Deno in CF, we'll be 100% better defensively.

Funny how a lot of us dumbass fans have been saying this for the better part of 2 years now and Jerry F Narron is just now bringing it up to JR.

while griffey maybe moving to RF is great news, playing Freel every day at CF won't work either. He will be out just as much if not more due to injury and his style of play.

See Jax's post above of the idea of a rotation of Deno and Freel in CF.

I agree if we put Deno and Freel in CF and RF respectively there are going to be many flyballs that get by them and in between them...

Griffey Passes Reggie Jackson on HR List

By The Associated Press
Ken Griffey Jr. moved up on the career home runs list with another of his familiar sweet swings, swatting Reggie Jackson out of the top 10.
"To pass him, sometimes it's mindboggling because I didn't think when I started playing this game 19 years ago that I'd be anywhere close to where I am now," Griffey said.

Griffey diagnosed with pleurisy, listed as day to day

Associated Press

PITTSBURGH - Ken Griffey Jr. remained out of the Cincinnati Reds' lineup for a second day Friday with pleurisy, an inflammation in the lining of a cavity surrounding the lungs.
Griffey was held out of Thursday's game in St. Louis with soreness in his chest. A chest X-ray on Friday revealed the problem, which is not expected to be a long-lasting condition. He was used as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning against the Pirates, drawing a walk before being replaced by a pinch runner.
