Lakers 06-07 Season Thread

Hall of Fame
This is for all the Lakers fans out there, i am a huge one. Great game last night for the team. Being down 20 in the 1st half and then climbing our way back for the victory. Kobe didn't play and we still beat one of the top teams in the West.

Other Notes:
-Smush looks to be his same old self from last year but making better choices.
-Bynum has gotten huge over the offseason and put on alot of weight (muscle). Played great last night too.
-Once again Kobe and Odom are going to be the stars while everyone else is support.

NBA isn't my passion but I've rooted for the Lakers since 1980. Honestly, I don't give it more than a glance untill playoff time. Good to see them competitive again so quickly.

I like the way Phil has the team constructed. I enjoy watching teams with a lot of movement and basketball savvy, that thugball shit Detroit started and Riley made huge, absolutely makes me cringe. The current Laker team reminds me a bit of the early Bulls. Time will tell.

Kobe suspended tonight vs. Knicks

Kobe Bryant was suspended by the NBA for Tuesday night's Lakers game against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden for striking the Spurs' Manu Ginobili in the face on Sunday.
I watched the game, the hit looked accidental to me, I guess David Stern didn't agree. They are playing the Knicks and they should still win this game. Heck, if you look at the first 2 games of the season they kinda kicked ass without #24.

Are you kidding? Did you see how Kobe inexplicably threw his arm backwards when he shot? I know he said he didn't mean to do it, but let's face it--the guy doesn't exactly have a great track record when it comes to being honest. Let's put it this way: if that hit was accidental, I'm Santa Claus.

Merry Christmas Santa :tongue2:

Heh, I didn't exactly review the shot. I saw Kobe shoot, I saw him hit the ground and I am not a spurs fan, I say this because if it was the other way around I might review the shot. but...

When Kobe is trying to point out a foul he ALWAYS throws his arms back.

His "track record" you speak of has NEVER been relevant to his play on the court.

Like I said looked accidental to me, maybe I am a fan being a biased, but man, maybe you need to get over what issue you have with the guy. The court case happened off the court and if that's going to be your reference for the rest of his career then you are going to and have probably already missed some great basketball moments.

No doubt. He wasn't looking at him when his elbow smashed his face or before. Don't understand that. Kobe won't appeal.

Word on ESPN is that Kobe will be suspended for 1 game again. He did a similar thing to what he did to Ginobili a few weeks ago. After a jump shot, he flailed his right arm and hit Minnesota's Marco Jaric, who went to the floor.

I just saw that. Dude needs to either (1) learn how to control his temper or (2) learn how to shoot without flailing his arms about wildly immediately after he takes a shot.

Well it's become obvious that the league has seen something they don't like with his flailing his arms about. He has been suspended this season for the same thing, one would assume he would be smart enough to change his behavior.

Sucks, the Lakers are falling apart right now as is, they started off looking like the surprise team in the league now they are looking like a 7 or 8 seed that will be swept out of the play offs in the first round.

It's time for Doctor Buss to step in and get this situation fixed. This is honestly one of the worst Lakers teams I have seen.
