Lamarcus Joyner (DB New York Jets)

Good Info.

This is very accurate. I was with LJ today and he really likes Fla St and OSU. He also spoke highly of the Gators. He really is impressed with the number of Buckeye corners to the NFL. Hopefully he can make it up for the spring game and fall in love with OSU like Jamal Berry. Tress has 2 great allies in Jamal and Sabino's mothers.

FSU & OSU stand out for LJ, with a slight lead for OSU thanks to their DB tradition and style, but FSU is a longtime favorite. Will decide on signing day after taking it all in.

From the UGA site...says he is interested in leaving the state for college...favors Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Ohio State and is also interested in ND and Cal...talks about his interest in UGA and has picked up offers from Illinois, USF and UCLA.

Naw, I'm going to be all over him about signing on signing day. If not that day then atleast the day after. Unless it's a very very difficult decision. This Spring and summer will knock the list down if an opportunity presents itself for him to travel around. Hopefully that happens. Im just telling him that the world is bigger than the hood, bigger than City, South beach, Dade County, and the State of florida. Its more out there and if one has the opportunity I encourage them to see it and open up their mind to different things.

Are you guys coming up for the Spring game? And/or the USC game in September?

I dont know, got to do some extra tutoring hours are something to have some funds for it. Im trying not to be in incredible debt by the time all this is over. But normally we take two trips in the summer but i'll combine that into one trip and head to my Dad's home state.

genron, I'm sure I dont speak for myself but no matter what LJ's decision is please stick around. Maybe CFL bound B. Brown should take some notes and surround himself with good people!!

leroy's inability to speak for himself aside , BP always appreciates folks that stick around no matter the outcome. Quality outsiders are a valued commodity around here.

Yeah my dad was from all over Ohio and most of his side of the family is still there. He loved everything about ohio. Always talked about how Ohio players were tougher than us in Miami. I guess thats why i always use to hate OSU. I never use to like no Ohio teams except Cincinnati lol. The E shuffle, who couldnt like that.

But let me say this. OSU does have a better foundation right now compared to FSU. Most things look solid there compared to the uneasiness of FSU where Bowden might coach another yr., is Mickey Andrews going to stay (thats a huge huge huge factor), whats the direction of the team. Many bush OSU talking about how they are getting beat in BCS games. Atleast they are there. And it's a great thought to a recruit to say hey, maybe i can be the player that gets them over the edge. With Frank, as far has making an immediate impact goes, I think it will be more profound at OSU compard to schools like FSU/UM/UF/UGA who have similiar type of athletes. Im thinking of him running back kicks against a ball state, purdue, indiana, michigan (no speed too many big guys), ill, wisconsin, etc. And I think he'll lock any WR in the big ten down for those teams as FR. I love the Florida school and Im a die hard cane fan, but this has to be a self decision like I tell all players pick a place thats for you.

The reason OSU has so much success with corners is not necessarily the receivers they play once a week over the course of a season, it's the fact that they put more receivers in the NFL than any other team. Our corners go up against the best every day in practice and that's what turns them into a Winfield, Youboty, Springs, Clements, Gamble, Jenkins, Whitner... Coaching of course has a little to do with it as well :)
