Having finally taken a good look at the videos of the guys interested in OSU for 2010 and looking at team needs, I'm convinced that Joyner should be the #1 priority just ahead of guys like Norwell and Gardner. Most importantly, he's really good but also huge is that he fills a big need.

The way I see it, national championship shots don't come along very often but 2010 should see OSU as the preseason #1 and our best chance of a NC in a while. So, any recruit that could come in and contribute and maybe even start as a true freshman has to be the focus. Looking ahead, the Buckeyes will start nearly all freshmen and sophomores on offense in 2009 and will only lose 2 guys after for 2010 (Ballard and Cordle). The loaded offensive class of 2008 with Pryor, the WRs and the great OL will all be juniors in 2010. My opinion, it will be the best OSU offense since at least 1998. On defense, the DL and LBs will be really deep, experienced and talented.

The only potential weak spot I see on the 2010 team is at DB. We lost 3 of our top 4 corners this year (Jenkins, Washington and Lane) and will likely lose most of our top guys next year (Chekwa (NFL), Amos, Torrence (baseball)). At safety both Coleman and Russell are seniors next year as well. That means in 2010 at DB we will be relying almost exclusively on the guys who will be redshirt and true freshman in 2009. I really like a lot of the guys we brought in this year like Corey Brown, CJ Barnett, etc. but I do think there will be an opening and a need for more guys to step up.

I think that the opportunity would be especially big for a quicker cover guy as a lot of the guys we will have in 2010 are bigger S/CB hybrid types more in the mold of Malcolm Jenkins. The DB class in OH in 2010 seems to be pretty weak so we are going to have to look out of state.

I can tell you that it's not going to be as different as I thought, but the big realignment of Florida high schools according to enrollment will not occur as expected as just reported by the FHSAA. I don't follow central and upstate as much, just Miami area teams. I'd expect Miami Northwestern and Miami Central to be strong teams again coming out of Miami along with Booker T. Washington. Joyner's team Miami Southwest should readily contend for another playoff spot in their district, but the northern part of Miami will be the strongest. Berry's team, Miami Palmetto, returns a very good offense (particularly it's line), but will have to retool on defense.

Hey Man i got great news last night. I finally talked to coach Haynes. He's a cool guy. He said him was coming down with Tressel to see LJ at the school. Just to shake hands thats all he said. Now i know for sure he's a target for them. That's crazy b/c other schools are closing its going to be close OSU/FSU.

The schedule for 2010 is perfect as well. There are a bunch of home games including Michigan, Penn State and Miami. Miami is a good ooc school but beatable and a home game. It would be a respectable win. I think Penn State looses Clark at that time and breaks in a new QB as well. Block O should be in full stride... Yes sir 2010 looks good and a lock down corner like Joyner (sorry about the alliteration) would make it that much better.

Good point. Plus, looking around the nation, Florida will be losing Tebow, Texas will be losing McCoy and Bradford likely won't stick around for a 5th year. Pryor, as a junior, could be the top QB in the country and he will be surrounded by plenty of talent.

Please dont talk about that game. Im still sick every time I think or see the game on espn classic...A stolen championship. That game breaks my heart more than any other game Ive seen or played. Anywayz...

We (Northwestern) will be loaded this season and a ton hype is going to follow. along with Miami Central but their OL and a ton of denfensive players are leaving. Godfrey is one of the best QB's in the nation period. He's not a ATH he's a QB. He's better than Aaron Murray and Gene Smith whom I coached against this previous yr, only by a lil bit though. LJ is his squad might have the same type of yr. They are losing Hosey willaims to to southridge which is going to hurt bad. LJ will be a one man wrecthing crew. I see maybe 3-4 wins and a playoff spot. Only 4 teams in the district now.
