Lamarcus Joyner (DB New York Jets)

He committed. He's got an article full of quotes stating he committed. Just got outrecruited by Jimbo.

Best of luck to the kid. Gotta finish with Anderson, Bryant, and Heard.

Wouldn't even call it that. I think our chances were better with Bobby still there to keep that program heading south. Florida State is smack dab in the middle of a gold mind, they're bound to get some thoroughbred die hards now and then, which is the way this one looked from the beginning. we got out hopes up when things looked/sounded good from all angles, but in the end, i think we all had it in the back of our heads that an in-state schools would be there to win him over in the end. I felt as good about our chances as anyone and I'm extremely bummed, but I wish Lamarcus and his family the best as they start his college career in Tally. That said, I really do hate Florida State and always have haha. I'll keep my eye on the kid, but by no means will you catch me rooting for the Seminoles unless they play M*ch*gan.

Lamarcus is probably good for an extra win a year. For us it may equate to a national championship, for FSU it means a winning record and a late December Bowl.

On a more serious note, think of all the Ohio recruits that we have gotten b/c of the "childhood favorite" appeal. We shouldn't be too surprised.

Good luck LJ. Most of this board would have made the same decision in your shoes.

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come with the other recruits.
I'm sure it will have a major effect on OTs from Minnesota considering USC & OSU. The dominoes have fallen

I think we'll get out share, like any other year....ehhh except for 2007 haha
Losses rarely hurt, especially if we don't face them (Woodson, Howard, etc). 07 was a meltdown on the boards, but look how it turned out:

We lost Martin and gained Heyward (great trade there).
We lost Thompson and "settled" for Dane.
We lost Davis and brought in the Brew Crew the next year.
We lost Wright but picked up Hines & Johnson late.
We whiffed on all the big FL guys but picked up the tiny LB named Rolle.
