Yeah. I expected less from Oliver Stone, that's for sure.

That being said, I really wonder if "Staff Sgt. Karns" (the marine that found the two P.A. officers) is really that creepy in real life.

I know many marines. None of which acted like that. When I first saw him in the movie, before I even knew who he was, pretty much everyone watching agreed, the guy was creepy. It may have been the actor, it may have been Stone's direction. I don't know. He seemed normal after he found the guys.

Was a pretty good movie, but deeply disturbing.

"Babel" last night. Just an "OK" movie. Kinda slow. Not a lot to recommend it.

Saw "Syriana" last week. Much better movie. Interesting plot. Some action.
Better acting. George Clooney, Matt Damon. Worth a rental.

I agree on 'Babel'. It was okay, but kinda dull. Pretty sad overall.

Anyway, the only recommendation I could give would be for BMax to see it, if only for the Japanese schoolgirl scenes. :p

We watched Babel over the weekend... I thought is was terrible.... very weak. The kids movie "Open Season" was more entertaining.

Watched A Scanner Darkly last night.

Decent. I give it a c+/b-. I am glad they didn't try that half cartoon element with Blade Runner. (Both are Phillip K Dick adaptations)

"The Queen": Interesting movie, but perhaps not all that as some of the critics would like to think.

That movie blows Babel and Crash out of the water; Jeffrey Wright is excellent in it too, and Chris Cooper is always solid. The fingernails scene is brutal.
