LaTwan Anderson (official thread)

I was one that questioned his speed but i've seen him run in person and he is a speedster. Not quite on the level of James Jackson but he can fly.
That was good footage of him and I'd be surprised to find out that ability is what's keeping him from getting an offer. He can jump and has great hands to go along with his speed but his frame is pretty solid and although his height isn't ideal for a safety, he makes up for it with his jumping ability. Would love to see him get an offer within the next month or two.

I have told my MSU brothers we need this kid. You cannot deny his film, it is impressive. Not only is his speed impressive, he is a ball hawk and hits hard.

They are so caught up in his off the field incident and his tranferring schools, they can't get past it.

A LaTwan Anderson is welcome in my book any time, although I heard we didn't make his top 5 schools. I think we cooled on him, we once led, and were recently just behind WVA. Now we aren't on the radar.

apparently he tore it up big-time at Michigan's summer camp and at the 7-on-7 that was held in Ann Arbor.

One guy over at Rivals was comparing him to Ronald Johnson, who if everyone remembers was a DB/WR recruit that signed with USC that was rated as one of the Top 10 players in the nation by just about every recruiting service.

I'm very curious as to why he doesn't have an offer from the hometown school yet. Are academics/off-field issues at play here?

I don't think OSU is exactly the "hometown school" since he's in Cleveland and OSU is Columbus.....

I think the staff just clearly has some prospects ranked higher that they are focusing on right now. They also have the luxury in Latwan stating numerous times that OSU is his dream school, so there's not exactly a rush knowing they can offer later and still likely get him. Now that's always a risk, but the staff has continued to talk to him and feel comfortable about where they are at. He'll likely end up getting an offer anyways though, so no worries here.

AMP: Latwan Anderson 7 on 7 highlights - Rivals.com Video

Tape from that 7 on 7...he has excellent speed in and out of breaks, great footwork, and a keen eye for the ball. Size-wise is not the most threatening, but he clearly has the confidence necessary. All-in-all, he is an amazing talent. If he can make it to a camp and have a performance such as this; then I wouldn't be surprised to see an offer seeing as how the Hagan-train seems to have cooled a bit. Latwan also seems more than capable at wideout...but is more of an impact player at the safety position.

If you were from Cleveland you'd know it's 'hometown'.

I think the staff has their finger on the pulse when it comes to Anderson. Judging as an outsider I can only speculate a few things; the staff wants to see him interact and be a student at Glenville (since he 'wore out his welcome' at St. Eds) and it's an attitude thing, they think an offer to Anderson right now might put off Joyner, they know they can get him even if they offer later, they want to see more from him during a football season. Whatever it is, like I said, they know what's up more than any, so I'll trust it. That said, I too have a good feeling he'll get a Buckeye offer.

I'm not sure that Anderson has academic problems, I think it has more to do with the off the field issues that lead to him changing schools. I have no beef with JT and staff taking their time to offer a kid with said issues.

Then I don't understand offers from scUM and Duke.

When the majority of your class far exceeds the standards, it's easy to sneak in guys that may not meet the norm. Not saying Anderson is a bad apple academically, but more so with regards to all recruits sought after by academic powerhouses.
