LB Coach James Laurinaitis (2x B1G DPOY, 2006 Nagurski, 2007 Butkus, 2008 Lott, 3x All-American, OSU HOF)

This is great! With all the guys who left last year I was almost resigned to the fact that all possible first rounders would go. I also thought Robo and Freeman would be on their way out. So glad to have these guys back, and I can't argue with Vern leaving, best of luck to him. I'm so pumped for '08, BRING ON THE TROJANS!!!

i'll repeat it one more time. there was no tight end on the play. it was a tackle eligible play with the TE lined up at left tackle, meaning that LSU did not have to notify the refs that it was a tackle eligible play because the guy lined up at left tackle was wearing an eligible number. then they went with a quick count. what do you want the defense to do? start reading jersey numbers or line up to defend the formation?

it was a fantastic play. maybe the best i saw all year. give credit where it's due.

I know that, I guess I didn't express that correctly in words. It was literally the tight end but lined up at tackle. But, what I was trying to say was that he was not accounted for on the play because the fact he was lined up at tackle. It completely threw off our defense and everyone was confused and out of position which is why it was very smart on LSU's part and it was the perfect play call. Which is what you pretty much stated and why I said I completely agree with you.

Anyways, this news is definitely good to hear about Laurinaitis staying. But, no one knows how legit it is for sure because Laurinaitis has not said it himself. Just to make sure everyone knows, which a lot of you probably do, don't be alarmed if Laurinaitis signs the papers to enter the draft. JL's dad said that he may just sign the papers to enter the draft to get some more time to make the decision. I personally think he will make the choice to either stay tonight or tomorrow night, because I am pretty sure he is staying, but there is always a possibility he goes.

If we get higher quality play out of our DTs, this defense is going to be spectacular. How many future NFL players are on that defense? Answer: An absurd amount.

Damn near all of them will get a look, many will make rosters and at some point we're going to be looking at the 2008-9 championship DVD and shaking our heads at the number of Sunday guys on the field and maybe even get a little misty about the guys that came back despite guaranteed $$$. I'm crossing my fingers that Jenkins/Laurinitus=Doss/Wilhelm.

edit: Deety/Sushi - you might as well lolcat this post... I'm starting early
