LB/DE Mark Johnson (official thread)

tsteele316 said:
he visits osu on 9/10 and has a great visit. he talks about how much he likes osu, maybe even calls us his leader. as time goes on, osu slides back to the pack and he ends up making a january decision in which he opts to stay on the west coast, and the cat calls of jt cant close begin once again.
making a blind prediction based on stereotypes that he won't leave the west coast isn't any better of a post than tressel can't close.

This kid is an individual, not part of a trend that overzealous buckeye fans like us come up with. Anything can happen, especially with our recruiters

I think tsteele316 was being facetious, making fun of those who will whine about not getting Johnson rather than slamming JT's recruiting abilities.

If he's listing us as one of only two "high" interest teams, then I'd say he's giving us some serious consideration.

hopefully you're right, i don't see any reason why he couldn't also be making a prediction and then slamming the haters out there.

What a huge "get" this would be for the Buckeyes. With USCum having not offered (yet) and his top 2 schools being thousands of miles away from home, I really like our chances. Once he sees our depth chart and the fact that we only have one LB commit to this point (Moeller could change that), one would have to think that he likes his chances to shine in Columbus. I've never been to Louisiana but I can't really stand anything French besides fries. If he's in town for the UT game, I don't think we could have a better chance than that. QB's from Georgia, LB's from Cali, RB's from FLA, I'm sure someone would once again think that we are cheating if we get this kid. Reel 'em in, JT!!

Mark reiterates he will visit tOSU and LSU for sure. He does conclude the interview saying he likes USC very much, but he is open to everyone. The author specualtes that USC is Mark's leader and he is waiting on that offer.
Well eventually with all the talent they have stockpiled they are not going to be able to take all these top notched players. Hopefully Johnson is one of them.

there is already a thread on him, and there has been plenty of talk.

there is also a sticky thread in the recruiting forum which details all visitors expected in for the texas game.

merging this with the original thread...and bumped for AMISH-SLAYER.

Would love to get this guy. Not only is he a great linebacker but maybe it will help us out in our recruiting in California. Taking 1-2 a year from there wouldn't be too bad for a state with so much talent.

sounded like he went out of his way to talk about how great their D was and how they put their LB's in the league. mentioned Na'il Diggs as being a guy from Dorsey that was a LB, went to tOSU, and now is in the league.
