LB John Simon - (2012 B1G DPOY, Super Bowl Champ)

John Simon belongs on the first page tonight. He was getting serious push when he was in today. In the past two games his strength has shown straight up the middle. He had a stop on a Toledo run that was a perfect play today. He stood up the blocker, then turned him with his strength when the runner tried to cut behind the blocker and tackled the runner while engaged with the blocker.

This guy is going to be rock solid in the middle of the defense.

It is not just strength with this kid, but man he is just hard to handle... Super fast reaction time after the snap and first move.. Plays well with is hands like he is a vet, and can move!

The young man is a beast!

If he continues to progress like this, he's going to be a monster. Anybody remember watching Reggie White throw guys around like rag dolls? I'm not saying he's Reggie White, but Johnny just imposes his will on blockers and puts them where he wants them. Our LBs are going to love playing behind this guy.

When I look at this kid i say hes just a great plug in the middle. but after seeing him run down the field. Kid has some wheels, he's mixed in a ton of stunts. dont be surprised if he stacks up some sacks with his 4.7 speed who also benches 420. gotta love this guy

Simon is going to be a stud. Our defense will be sick next year if Cam and Gibson stay.

Wouldn't bet on it at all, but I think it'll be pretty damn good regardless.. we'll still have some playmakers on the d-line. We're so deep this year that I don't think we'll see a huge dropoff next year.

Next year's defense is looking to be something special IMO. The team in general should be excellent, but especially the defense. We'll have to replace a couple guys, but we've seen enough of the two deep to know that we'll be reloading again.
