LB Pete Werner (New Orleans Saints)

Buckeye teamwork makes the dream work. Pete is killing it, so proud of him. Gotta be honest, I think I'm horrible at calling which Buckeyes will be good in the NFL. Pete was awesome in Columbus, but for whatever reason thought he wouldn't thrive in the NFL. Gladly will be wrong on that one. To think this guy almost went to ND, glad that never happened.

Yeah, me too. Sometimes I think it boils down to the "luck of the draw". A players gets drafted to a team where he is just the "right fit", i.e. fills a definite need, team's schemes match the players strengths, works well with existing teammates, and responds well to the coaches' style of coaching, etc.

Always love seeing Buckeyes doing well in the league. Pete, Jordan Fuller, Bosas, little and big, now CJ and Bears QB starting to show out. Saw that Chase traded to SF to be a bookend with Nick. Wish they had been there when I lived there...I know there's more, and enjoy hearing their names as well. Thanks to BP for doing a "Pros in the League" type of write-up, that documents the week end results in Buckeye accomplishments. Only way I can keep current. Maybe Cleveland will wake up and draft more from C'bus? Go Bucks - old and new

WERNER SNAGS A TAKEAWAY

Cooper wasn’t the only former Ohio State defender to come up with a takeaway in Week 14. Pete Werner got one of his own when he plucked a ball out of the air that had been knocked out of Bryce Young’s hands in the New Orleans Saints’ Sunday afternoon contest with the Carolina Panthers.
