LB Ross Homan (official thread)

I thought he took GREAT pursuit angles to get to the ball carrier. I wasn't as impressed with Ross's speed as I was of FLA LB Marcus Sims on his videos, but he was still very impressive. He can protect against the run, protect against the pass, and pass rush the QB. Very balanced and fundamentally sound. A great start on the defensive side to this class!

Level of competition --- small divisions but very top end small divisions. Over 70 State Titles in the conference since it's start in '73. Some of the schools include:
St Henry -- '04 State Champ in Div V -- 5x State Champ -- home of over 30 Div I football players including Bob & Tom Hoying, Jeff Hartings, Jim Lachey.
Versailles -- '04 State Runner-Up in Div IV -- 6x State Champ
Delphos St Johns -- 3x State Champ
Marion Local -- 2x State Champ
Minster -- 1x State Champ
Coldwater also plays Kenton every year, they're a 2x State Champ

So not big schools, but very good football schools.

JCOSU -- Vogel is 6'4. He was 1st team All-Ohio but was not player of the year. He did have about 11 catches for 180 yards and I think 2 TDs receiving, 2 TD rushing in the State Finals though.

A solid pic of Homan

He looked pretty good at tailback...it's always good to know that he's a viable option at RB if need be (remember Iowa having to go down to their 5th or 6th string RB this past season).

Coldwater linebacker Ross Homan didn't take much time at all to commit to Ohio State after he was offered on signing day. Homan gave his verbal commitment to Jim Tressel not long after Akron Garfield's Chris Wells did and together the two have gotten Ohio State's 2006 recruiting class off to a quality start.
