We continue our Ohio High Top 100 countdown today with the No. 8 player, linebacker Ross Homan of Coldwater High School. Homan was the second player to commit to Ohio State this year after Akron Garfield's Chris Wells, and the decision seemed like a no-brainer. Click the link for Homan's profile as well as an update from Dave Biddle, who talked with Homan on Sunday about his decision to attend OSU.

Homan is considered the #8 prospect in Ohio for 2006. Very similar to AJ Hawk..........slighty faster than Hawk. He reads the game very well. He will graduate early next year.

Anyone know when HS schedules are announced, if they haven't been already? I live about 20 minutes from Coldwater HS and will definitely check out his home games. I wanna see my hometown Cougars first, but 5 home/5 away oughtta give me the chance for a couple Cav games. Also, VW and Coldwater have scheduled a scrimmage about a week or two before the season, the last few years. Ross sounds like a tackling machine and I just wanna see him in action. 219 So. then 234 Jr. ??? I'm sold already. Go Ross, GO BUCKS!!!

Is he still listed as a 5-star? He was referred to as a 4-star in the Henton thread but a 5-star earlier in this thread, so I wasn't sure if he was down-graded for some reason.

They originally had all the top 100 players as 5-stars, and then adjusted the players from #50 up as 4-stars. That's why you first saw him as a 5 and then a 4.

I recently took a second-shift job M-F. This means that as I was hoping for some Friday Night lights, I am going to be left out in the cold. As I had proclaimed before, I will find a way to see Ross playing this season, one way or another. Maybe I will become ill all of a sudden on a Friday...
