LB Ryan Shazier (All B1G, All-American, 2017 Pro Bowl)

Hi, my name is Ryan shazier. I'm fucking pissed off, and if I had hair it would be on fire this Saturday.

Screwed out of being a Lott Finalist (should be in over James Morris), jobbed out of both B1G LB of the year, and didn't get selected as the B1G DPOY (despite having much better numbers than Borland).

Hopefully Ryan returns for his senior year and rips through B1G offenses again.

I think that you have to be a senior to be a finalist for the Lott award...not 100% sure though

Form the Lott IMPACT website:

The Lott IMPACT Trophy® was established by The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation® to honor college football’s Defensive IMPACT® Player of the Year.

The award is unique because it represents the first trophy to give equal weight to personal character as well as athletic performance from a defensive college player

http://lottimpacttrophy.org/about-the-trophy/

No mention of its being a "senior only" award ... and Shazier was on the original 42 man watch list (as was fellow Buckeye junior Bradley Roby).

No matter what the actual stats say about this defense, this defense has been labeled as a bad defense nationally and as such Shazier will not get the recognition he ultimately deserves. It has been posted on this site that his numbers dwarf those of everyone else in the B1G but he did not get the major awards. I think he is the best linebacker in the B1G easily and top 3 nationally. Then again I am a Buckeye fan that cannot understand how overrated my team is because of my Scarlet colored glasses. Just ask the media, they will tell you everything you need to know, right??
