And I don't need any of this. I don't need this stuff, and I don't need you. I don't need anything except this. And that's it and that's the only thing I need, is this. I don't need this or this. Just this ashtray. And this paddle game, the ashtray and the paddle game and that's all I need. And this remote control. The ashtray, the paddle game, and the remote control, and that's all I need. And these matches. The ashtray, and these matches, and the remote control and the paddle ball. And this lamp. The ashtray, this paddle game and the remote control and the lamp and that's all I need. And that's all I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one - I need this. The paddle game, and the chair, and the remote control, and the matches, for sure. And this. And that's all I need. The ashtray, the remote control, the paddle game, this magazine and the chair....

I got this off of Gatorcountry, so it has to be right. :paranoid:

Stanford is usually no. 1 by a large margin because of the number of sports it fields, so what you say does make sense. The Cardinal for the entire time? I dunno. I don't even have a link for historical results.

Link.

Edit: PAC-10! PAC-10! PAC-10!

For the entire time since they took all sports stats bro, not just since 93, but when it was still the Sears deal.

The award originated in 1993

Prior to 2003, the sponsor of the NACDA Directors' Cup was retail merchandiser Sears, and the award was known as the Sears Cup. Beginning in the 2003-2004 season, the sponsor was the United States Sports Academy. In 2007-08, Learfield Sports took over the sponsorship of the Directors' Cup.

I'm pretty sure that Buckyle's link is correct. Given which, I have no idea what your gatorcountry cohorts meant by "UCLA did not finish in the top ten in the Director's cup for the first time in 26 years", in reference to an award that's 16 years old. Typo, maybe.

It was pretty easy to learn that Stanford finished #2 the first year, and has won it every year since. But don't let the facts, or your unwillingness to do some simple reseach, get in the way of pimping Florida on BP.

But since it's really all about the SEC, I'm sure you're pleased that Georgia Bulldog Courtney Kupets recently won the Honda-Broderick award as best female athlete in the NCAA. :wink2:

How were you supposed to know it was "iron balls" McGinty?

If you wanted to be really generous, you could say maybe he was including the National Collegiate All-Sports Championship, which was sort of the predecessor to the Sears/Director's Cup, although it was only run by the Knoxville Journal. Problem there is, UF didn't finish in the top ten of that every year.

They did since the 83-83 year, so they do have 26 straight top ten finishes. And this Florida Wiki page says that Stanford can't match that. So if that's correct, I apologize to Mr Ubet for my earlier 'pimping' comment. It wasn't accurate to say that Florida is the only one always in the Top ten in the history of the Director's Cup, since that only started in '93, but counting the earlier 'All-sports' championship apparently gives them the longest current streak.

I have no idea what award they're talking about there, then. It's not the National Collegiate All-Sports Championship, which UF finished 21st in 1987, for example. Apparently, prior to the Director's Cup, "All-Sport Championships" were kind of like national football championships were in the '30's, with 5 different schools claiming a "championship" every year. At any rate, the original claim, as stated, was demonstrably incorrect.
