Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

He shouldn't be compared to Jordan until his career is over. and even then, he isn't going to stack up, probably. It's a tired argument that simply spins in circles and wastes time.

I enjoyed MJ when played.

I enjoy Lebron while he's playing.

Pretty much sums it up for me. Why people insist on wasting their time with it is beyond me.

Lame argument. I don't know of many guys who won championships who didn't also have excellent teammates. I guess the Bulls never benefited from Paxson hitting some late 3s either. Hilarious.
I'm tired of people saying this dumb shit. Scottie Pippen was really fucking good. You know what he wasn't? a top 3 player on his own team when he and MJ and another all star decided to team up with each other to take the easy way out.

Scottie Pippen played his entire relevant career with MJ. They didn't sneak around like a couple of little bitches trying to find the easy way to win championships. Scottie Pippen isn't even the right comparison. If you want to pretend like MJ had the same amount of help (as if that even mattered) then the actual comparison would be if MJ teamed up with Magic and John Stockton or Clyde Drexler. None of those guys would have pulled that shit, though. They had enough drive to want to win because they were better.

I think that most of us can agree that LeBron is not, nor ever will be Michael Jordan. They have different games and Jordan was a competitor unlike anybody we've ever seen in sports (except maybe Tiger Woods in his prime, but that's another discussion).

However, there is no denying LeBron's greatness. He's pretty much already in the Top 10 all time, and will likely finish up in the top 3-5 at worst. Yes, his personality can be irritating, but the guy just earned every bit of that last title so give credit where it's due. He disguised a lot of serious flaws in the Heats lineup which, at least in this years playoffs, was very pedestrian compared to many championship teams in both recent and long term memory. I absolutely hate everything the Miami Heat and their fan base stand for but if there's anybody who deserved a championship ring this year, it's LeBron James.

LeBron has the talent to be a top 3 guy. That isn't in question.

However, unlike other guys in that top pantheon, he waits until his team is either being seriously pushed or is down a ton to turn it on. Game 6 is exactly why he will never quite reach the level that his talent would get him too. He didn't use all of that talent until they were down 15 and staring into the abyss.

and Cleveland fans would have taken the same bait if he was in a Cav's jersey right now with 2 rings.

Doubtful. While I'm not a Cavs fan, every one who is a fan of Cleveland sports knows he would have ended up injured or something similarly stupid would have happened on the way to those championships. Why? Because God hates Cleveland sports.

Try again.

The point I made that you ignore is that MJ had role players such as Paxson just as James does with folks like Ray Allen.

Hate on man, hate on.

Oh jesus. Somebody asked for the stat so I provided it. Obviously there's going to be a small sample size in that situation. If you don't think that's a good way of measuring "clutch" (which is in itself somewhat abstract), that's your prerogative.
