Led Zeppelin reuniting!

BuckeyeTillIDie

The North Remembers
Sept. 2-10: Death, Taxes & Zeppelin - That's Really Week

the three surviving members of Led Zeppelin are finally getting back together! Yep, hard rock fans still dazed and confused by recent news of the long-delayed Van Halen reunion have even more reason to celebrate, now that this even longer-delayed reunion is reportedly in the works. Incredibly, according to NME.com, frontman Robert Plant is in talks this week with fellow Led Zep legends Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones about a Zeppelin tour that'll hopefully kick off in London this November. Presumably late drummer John Bonham's son, Jason Bonham

Awesome!

Sounds like this would be a one-time only gig:

'We got a band meeting this afternoon' admits singer

05.Sep.07 12:16pm

Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has confirmed that the legendary rock band will be reuniting later this year.

A reunion has been strongly rumoured for the last week or so and today (September 5) the singer confirmed it's definitely on.

A fan who met Plant in London today contacted NME.COM explaining that the singer said he was on his way to meet bandmates Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

"How did you find out about this?" asked Plant when asked about the prospects of a reunion show by the autograph hunter. "Well we've got a band meeting about it this afternoon about it. There's not a lot to work out as it's only going to be one-off gig."

NME.COM has also learned from a music industry source that the show, possibly to take place in November at the 02 in London, will be a charity gig organised by promoter Harvey Goldsmith.

The reunion concert is tonight. Hopefully they put on a decent show and it's released on DVD sometime soon. I'll be interested to read the reviews tomorrow.

Can Led Zeppelin still rock?

LONDON, England (CNN) -- They have been described by critics as the definitive heavy metal band, they released eight studio albums in just 10 years and have sold more than 300 million records worldwide. And now, one of the best rock acts of all time is back.

After the death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, Led Zeppelin split up and, aside from occasional appearances at one-off gigs and a brief return by guitarist Jimmy Page and lead singer Robert Plant in the late 1990s, the band has stayed away from the limelight.

Monday, December 10, will see the surviving members of the band take to the stage again, in London's O2 Arena. They will be joined by Bonham's son Jason, for what is one of the most eagerly anticipated comeback gigs in recent memory.

The venue has a capacity of 20,000, but as soon as the tickets went on sale -- for a cool ?125 ($253.50) -- fans rushed to get their hands on one. In total 11 million people signed up for the chance to see the reunion gig, officially announced as a one-off performance by the band.

There are rumors that they will be doing a US tour next year. I'll be going to see them if this is true.

They just released a greatest hits CD called Mothership. It's easily the best collection of songs ever, by any artist. They also just re-released The Song Remains the Same. Great stuff.

I'd be so happy if they made a few new songs. No band in history churned out as many incredible songs.

I saw Jimmy Page perform in Dayton when I was in high school about 20 years ago... during sound check I thought to myself, "Self, that sure sounds a lot like John banging on the drums up there." Knowing full well it couldn't have been, I wasn't too shocked to learn it was his son, Jason... Jason sure can play the hell outta the drums, should be a good lil' reunion they are putting together.
