Watching. Always watching.

Prof Tim Noakes at the University of Cape Town has been a long distance running and endurance sports guru for decades. He has been promoting a low carb high fat diet for years. The medical fraternity stood up to him with a court case eventually brought to shut him up. Flying top profs in from around the world, he won.

Here is yet another link supporting my friend. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...om&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial.

Noakes diet has had a tremendous impact on obesity and well being around the world.

TIM NOAKES ‘DELIGHTED’ AT NOT GUILTY VERDICT

The Health Professions Council of SA (HPCSA) launched a hearing after the Association of Dietetics filed a complaint against Noakes for advising a mother to ween her child on low carb and high fat foods on Twitter in 2014.
The inquiry on Friday found Noakes not guilty of negligence or providing advice without sound information.

The Silencing of a Low-Carb Rebel

One day her husband told her he wanted to try a diet that was sweeping South Africa. Called Banting, it was named for a 19th-century British undertaker named William Banting, who had lost dozens of pounds by giving up bread, potatoes, sugar, and anything else that consisted primarily of carbs, including beer.

In the 1990s, Banting had enjoyed a brief vogue in the U.S., where it was known as the Atkins diet, which purportedly let people lose weight while eating bacon, steaks, and cheese. The
American Medical Association attacked the idea vehemently, and after Dr. Robert Atkins died in a fall in 2003, the fat-eating fad started to fade away.

Meh, say what you will... but I can exercise like a mofo and burn off some fat. Keep the same level of exercise and kill carbs and I lose weight like a freshman loses her dress on prom night.

Plural possessive? Sadly, I was never that much of a play'a.

How is that fixed? Who today would accept the merely great use of their as a singular possessive pronoun?

It's great if you're a world class athlete or ultrarunner. Not so much for the average Joe. Dr Atkins was clinically obese when he died.

The Tarahumara drink a gallon of low alcohol content, high carb corn beer before they run their 250 mile races.

I heard a guy who did an article or book on these. Talking about at some ultra marathon race in the states in the early 80s they were drinking beer at the last rest station. They finished like 1,2,5 or something crazy like that...

Chris McDougall. Born to Run recounts that tale. He also wrote Natural Born Heroes, which was mentioned above.

He did a talk at Google a couple years ago. It's on YouTube.
