If you're sick of the presentation between plays you can turn it off.

Didn't know that. Awesome. I didn't figure they'd give that option, so I didn't even look.

So would you guys say it's captured the "sim" style of play? And has anyone done a draft? I hear those a really fun.

I've done a whole bunch of drafts (I sim franchises because I like building teams and getting them to the Super Bowl). You can actually find capable players later in the draft. I got an 81 overall left tackle in the fourth round last night, and he progressed to 87 after one year. Had some decent luck with RBs later in the draft too.

The web is key in the drafts. One big problem I had with previous Maddens is that your players drafted later in the draft were worthless. TEs sometimes turned out decent. Aside from that...

I'm loving this game. It's by far the most complete package of a football game. Collinsworth even seems tolerable this year.

I'm most impressed with how they were able to work out the relative speeds and overall scores of the players this year. It's great seeing a LB with 75 SPD take the proper angle and get a RB with 86 SPD. It's also nice that a player w/ 90+ SPD isn't being run down from behind by an LB with 75 SPD. All of the ratings matter this year, not just speed. It's great, IMHO.

If they can carry over 50% of this stuff to NCAA, it will be awesome.

Something feels off about the gameplay. Maybe I'm just not used to it. It runs like [censored] on my XBox too. I thought the game had froze at least 8 times in one game I played, and I'm not exaggerating. Clearing the cache helped a bit, but not enough. The game that I thought was going to freeze 8+ times ended up freezing late in the game. The frequent pauses caused an incomplete game set to 7 minute quarters (without clock acceleration) to last over an hour and a half. Ridiculous.

I'm not having any issues with pausing of freezing. I've been playing games on 12 minute quarters with 15 second clock runoff in less than an hour and a half. Sounds like your 360 is having issues.

I wish I was having the same experience. I don't like the overall feel of this game. I prefer NCAA 2010 by far. The timing just seems off. Perhaps Smooth described it best, but maybe the game is just MUCH more deliberate, but I am not translating the game from NCAA to Madden well at all.

I've read on some other forums that the same thing is happening to others. Happening on both systems too. Doesn't happen with any other games like I said.

Picking it up tonight after work.. I had my plan to turn around the Brownies.. (my dream trade) Brady for Troy.. Troy is a fucking 59? Get the fuck outta here.
He has B potential in Franchise... I was able to get him up to around 88-89 when I simmed about 5 years with the Panthers (I traded for him in year 1).

The rating system is completely different. AJ Hawk is a 74. As well as Derrick Brooks.

Heads up for you guys if you aren't playing with Malcolm. Play with Malcolm.

JL is pretty good too. Malcolm was my best DB for a couple games. He was starting opposite Corey Webster (90 or 91 OVR I think).

Larry English and Brian Orakpo have done pretty well for me too.

Does anybody know what Ginn's potential is.. I traded too much to get him, and my power went out erasing all my trades so far.

I wouldn't mind trading Jamal for Beanie - I would like to get Malcom but I'm not sure what I would have to give up. Plus, Ty Law is a free agent. Malcom & Eric Wright could be killer in a couple years.

I was able to keep Brady & DA when I got Troy - gave up either a 4th or a 5th round pick to get him.

Brady may be a nice bargaining chip to get a few players with, he has A potential..

I gave DA to Baltimore for Troy and a draft pick. Quinn's horrible now, but that A potential should mean he's pretty good by the time I draft Pryor.

Speaking of potential, after scouting Anderson Russel for six weeks, he may be the premier FS in the draft class. I have to somehow get a first round pick again (gave it up for Li'l Animal) and then decide whether to get Russel or Taylor Mays.

Quick bump.

I'm in the middle of a 7 game win streak.

Playing as the Cardinals and my opponent as the Colts.

He's got a decent record but he relies too much on the run, I noticed that early and his passing game isn't very sharp. So I played plenty of cover 2, crept up the coverage and shut down the short passing game. Its 17-7 heading into the 4th.

All of sudden he hits me with some formations and plays he never used. So I've been bored most of the game and not paying attention to my calls. I don't adjust quick enough because I think he gets lucky. Next thing I know its 21-17 with 49 seconds left and I have 2 timeouts. I don't force anything and he's giving me 10 yards+ a pop. 12 seconds left I'm at midfield.
5 wide and I hit Urban for 19 yards. 6 seconds left, I burn my last timeout.

At the 31 yard line, 5 wide. Boldin far left, Breaston just inside of him. Fitzgerald far right. Snap, drop back. I figure Boldin is in single - nope, the safety is sitting right on him. I look to Breaston in the post, too risky. Urban on the seam and its covered. Fitzgerald is down far right, running full speed and is about half a step in front of the CB, who hasn't turned to run with him. The safety is on the inside hash mark, I figure I've lost so... screw it. I lightly press O and let it fly. The safety moves to make a play, Fitz is just beyond the CB and the rest of the defense comes flying in. LF leaps, with the CB's hands right behind him, and safety in front. Gets his hands on it, gets undercut...a complete 360 in mid air and comes down with it. 23-21 with :00 on the clock.

Friends and I go nuts...

Needless to say the message I promptly recieved wasn't too hot.

8 game win streak continues today ...

That sounds amazing...

I'm having a ton of fun on offline dynasty in NCAA now that I have adjusted the coach settings for all teams (run/pass ratio and simulation settings) as well as having a very high quality set of sliders. Give myself some house rules in recruiting and I'm having a ton of fun, game hasn't gotten stale yet.

But in any case, I'm stocking up on drafts to import into Madden. Once I have 10 years of drafts, I'm gonna go and grab Madden and take either Cleveland or the Lions to the superbowl. Hopefully 5 seasons down the line I'll have Troy starting a superbowl championship team handing off to a seasoned Beanie wells.
