This pizza place called Marco's Pizza just opened up a month or so ago here in Knoxville. Says they are based out of Toledo. Are they all over Ohio? Anyone been there? Any good?

Their first store was in Toledo and their headquarters is still there, and yes they are all over Ohio. They were the first store in our area to offer crust toppers, so for the variety we would eat their food. It's as good as - or as bad as - any chain pizza: they're competitors with Papa John's, Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc.
FWIW I would still take any of the local pizza over any of the chain pizza 95% of the time.

That was the pizza we would always get when visiting my grandparents who lived near Manhattan and LaGrange in Toledo.

Was OK, nothing great. Mightbe hit the nail on the head about local vs. chains.

Went to school at U of Toledo and had my share of pies from there. I always remember the pizza being dry and the crust isn't very good either. If there was to be a big chain of pizza stores coming out of Toledo, it ought to be Gino's. Get yourself some good local pizza or Donatos before hitting up Marco's.

Never hat Gino's but I'm a big fan of Donatos. Unfortunately, there is no Donatos here in Knoxville. Reminds me though, Krogers down here has frozen Donatos pizzas. I haven't tried it yet, not a big fan of frozen pizza. Every time I'm home in Cincy I try to hit up either a Donatos or a LaRosa's.

grote is a buckeye (the founder and guy who once again runs donatos).
Our Heritage - Donatos

the take and bake is relatively similar to the "real" thing. granted the ones in ohio krogers are not frozen, they are in a frig. you might give it a try?

I hit Donatos whenever I'm in Columbus. The closest one I've found near me is in Twinsburg, which isn't exactly across the street. I'd definitely try a frozen one if I saw it but Kroger disappeared from this area years ago. Giant Eagle dominates.

Three pizza places from Ohio that I miss: Donatos, Leaning Tower (Mansfield), and Chett and Matt's (Sandusky). I would be spending so much more money on pizza if there were one of these three down here in the tourist area of Orlando.

And I would agree with the majority that say that Marco's is average when it comes to chain pizza. Definitely not a family favorite. We ordered Leaning Tower whenever my cousin came up for special occasions.
