This is fucking bullshit! This was split from the Marlon Brown thread, not the Pryor thread like the title says!

I want my fucking money back!

I fixed the thread title - now I'll send you v$49.95.

You'll never convince me you paid full price.

Ok. Now explain why. Fill me in on why I should despise a seemingly good man that is very involved in numerous Christian organizations, visited the troops overseas, adopted children, and is involved in multiple charities.

We should hate him because he let his kids celebrate a TD?

I'm not trying to start a mass BP Mark Richt hate drive, he could be your second favorite coach for all I care Grad. I just don't care for him, to me he comes off cocky in his interviews, coaching in the SEC doesn't help him in my book.

As far as a NCAA Nice Guy Award goes Charlie Weis has setup multiple Autism charities in honor of his daughter, who is autistic. Pete Carroll runs the charity Better LA which prevents Gang violence. Lloyd Carr has worked with the United Way and Special Olympics. Grad you of all people on this board should know that great coaches in large part tend to be good, decent people. However there are DickRod's here and there. So Richt, a very accomplished coach, being a good person off the field does not surprise me.

About the TD celebration kinda gay but not unacceptable by any stretch of the imagination.

P.S. If you read the first post in this thread you'll notice I was more calling tonystarx out for coming off like a Georgia fan than trashing Richt.

I see someone changed it... Well, I have a screen cap of the (Split from Pryor) to prove it. BB73 gave me my money back... and it's a good thing he governed himself accordingly, because he had 1 week. No joke.

I'm guessing coaching in columbus does help in your book.

The td celebration was stupid because it made UGA look (despite the fact that they won that particular game) even more pathetic than usual. Who celebrates a touchdown against their biggest rival? That's something you'd expect from a D-II school not an alleged top tier program. Celebrate after the game or not at all. I hope Richt stays in Athens forever. They'll always be in the running for 2nd-4th place in the SEC.

Go you hairy Dawgs. Bite me. Woof, woof, woof.

So, this rates a "FUCK MARK RICHT!"? I can see it for Weis, who set up the charity because it also happens to benefit his own kid.

Notwithstanding the stupid TD celebration, I have heard many of the things that Grad21 raised about Richt. My understanding from people in the university is that he is a person with strong religious values. I don't see why we should hate him. If his team plays Ohio State, I don't have to hate him to want to beat him.

Personally, I don't care how anyone feels about coaches and players outside of tOSU...I'll chime in when I feel someone is clueless on a situation or when they simply make a blind statement with zero explanation. I found yours to be the latter and I asked you to explain your stance. Nothing more.

I'm still trying to figure out how this all started in the Mack Brown thread. BB gets too far out there for me sometimes, seriously.

Yeah I'm sure Charlie, who is a multi-millionaire, needs to setup a charity to get the best medical care for his daughter.

You're confusing me. I thought we were discussing the similarities and/or differences btwn Mark Richt and Jim Tressel? What on god's green earth does this have to do with any of that?

I can see this is becoming a pointless conversation rather quickly. The bottom line is, anyone can like or dislike Mark Richt or Jim Tressel for whatever reason, we are all entitled to our opinion.

If you dislike Richt because he coaches in the SEC, that's strange, but that's your opinion. If you dislike Richt because of his TD celebration directive last year versus Florida, that's your opinion. If you feel that Richt comes across as arrogant and cocky during interviews, that's your opinion.

However, the facts are that he is a good coach and good person, there is no debate about that. If that were not the case, I don't believe Georgia would have kept Richt on board for the past 8 years.
