Named first team all-league, county, and CIF. "I love to make audibles and break down the defense. I've been well-coached (Bob and Bret Johnson) and I read well. According to both Rivals and Insiders, Mark has no present interest in Ohio State; however, that could always change now that his teammate has committed to the Bucks. BTW, he has offers from Nebraska, USC, Arizona, Stanford, and Texas (and apparently a recent offer from OSU as well).

Mark's film on Rivals is of a very poor quality, and it is very difficult to the action at times. However, Mark certainly has a good arm, even though he throws rather flat-footed and sometimes leaning back (IIRC, some guy named Elway threw that way at times, and he could heave the ball a few yards downfield). Mark throws well on the run, and was big and athletic enough to break tackles when he had to scramble. All in all, Bill Stull is better at setting up in the pocket, and Rob Schoenhoft may have a better arm, but Sanchez appears to have some potential at the next level; his offer list indicates that some big-time schools feel the same way.

Living in Orange County, I've seen Sanchez several times either on TV, or in person. He would be the perfect QB for JT. He is not selfish. He executes the team's offense, and makes great decisions. He can buy time in the pocket, run, throw on the run, throw short and deep, and I've never seen him force the ball. The only loss his team has suffered in his tenure was in the finals last year. They had won 43 or 44 in a row. Next year the play Matre Dei (Leinhart), Long Beach Poly (too many to list), Los Alomitos (Randy Estes), Concorde De LaSalle (150 + straight wins), all before they start league play. His numbers are strong against major competition, not to mention he has a great coach. Whoever gets this guy is going to be happy. He's a leader, and does the things he need's to do to win. IMO, a verbal from him would excite me more than when Artie said he was coming to Columbus, and I remember that being pretty darn exciting. Good luck JT.

He'll obviously be at the Elite 11 camp this year, since the Mission Viejo coaches, Bob and Bret Johnson, host the camp. They're the father and brother of former Buffalo QB Rob Johnson.

Lemming gives him a 5 star rating and here is his take from his free usapreps.com e-mail

The real deal. A great quarterback who Tom feels is one of the two best quarterbacks in the country along with Greg Paulus of New York. On film appears to have all the tools to be one of the real greats. Everyone thinks he is leaning to USC, but in actuality, Sanchez will go where he feels he can play within a year. A very smart decision on his part. Now, maybe he feels that he could do that at USC but don’t be surprised to see him end up elsewhere. Anyone who saw the update a couple weeks ago where we stated Mark as one of the few guys who could star as freshman, knows that Tom feels he could be thrown in to quick start situation and succeed. Has been offered by everyone, so sit back and wait for this one to play out.

According to a recent interview by the insiders his top 4 are: U$C, mich, tOSU and Nebraska.

He talked about Chow, said he liked what nebraska was doing and how he liked that scUM put so many guys in the pros, he did not say anything about the buckeyes except naming them for the schools he is strongly considering. Sounds pretty good to me.
