Mark Sanchez (Philadelphia Eagles)

Rocky Hinds was recruited as a QB. In his junior year of HS he was 2-9 as a starter, but played behind a very small line. He has a cannon of an arm and excellent moblity. Anything could happen with him, but I don't think USC needs another 6-4, 220 lbs WR/S at this point.

Olson would be a great pick-up by USC and his father said that he MIGHT transfer from BYU. BYU back-up QB just announced that he is transferring as well. So, it would seem that BYU is making a major push to keep him.

Between Olson and M.S., advantage Olson, who is a carbon copy of Leinart, including the left arm. But, in my opinion, Olson is doubtful to becoming a Trojan.

MS is an excellent QB because he has been groomed by one of the best, but many observers in Southern California believe that Derek Shaw, QB from Oceanside HS is as good as Mark, and he has not received an offer from us.

USC needs a QB in this recruiting year as we are out of sequence by not selecting one in 2002. Personally, I don't care whether we get Olson, Sanchez, Shaw, or whomever, as long as we receive a commitment from a top 20 QB. The refining of the skills can be provided by the coaches, as they have proven with the devevopment of Leinart.

PS: DiHard, thanks for the compliments. They are appreciated, especially coming from an uncompromising tough guy like you.

I agree with Biggins. Olson is the better QB of the two, in my opinion, but as I said, either one, or others, would do.

Obviously, there are a lot of nuances going on at this time which I have a difficult time comprehending. It might be that MS decision was made over five days ago and they are waiting for the most appropriate (?) time to announce.

I may be reading too much into this, but I also found rds desappearance (wedding?) from BN board for the next few days a little intriguing. But hey, people, for whatever reason, continue to get married, right?

By the way, does anybody know where exactly is rds located?

Oh, I almost forgot, congratulations on Bemoll and on the great recruiting season you guys are having.

No matter what happens with Sanchez, I think one thing that has been lost in this whole friggin mess is that RS is a great QB recruit as well..

The guy goes 6'5", 225+ is Elite 11 and, like Sanchez, rates 4 stars on Rivals..
RS, as an Ohio kid, knows all about Big Ten football... While MS is the 1 rated "Pro-Style" QB, RS is 4th... What's the difference? Who knows, maybe 1 or both of these guys flops... maybe both become Heisman contenders..

I say this because I think there are pleanty of people out there (and maybe this post is better for BN than here) that would feel like losing MS makes RS a consolation prize, and guys, I just don't think you can go wrong with either one of these two...

I wouldn't say RS is "in the bag" either, and I don't see many people throwin props at a kid who looks to deserve just as much hype as MS. All that said, I hope against hope OSU gets both. But if we get just 1 - either one, I'll be thrilled.

You've made a very good point that bears repeating. IF the deal is that either Rob Schoenhoft or Mark Sanchez comes here, then we can mark off QB as completed for this class. Pick up a second guy, maybe a slighly under-the-radar-with-upside type, and we're really set. No need for a meltdown either way.

In a way, I'd rather see us get RS due to the scUM factor, but either guy is a solid pickup.

Down ta TWO

ok now that its down with tosu and Texas. Does anyone else think that he'll pick the buckeyes because both are out of state and why go to texas when you can start early and play with your buddies? Thats what I think. Plus what happened with USC I thought it was between OSU and them.

I never said Ginn was going to SC....like OSUGRAD said, I said SC would pull all the stops on Ginn...he was our number one recruit....and imo, the best player to come out in awhile....

On Davis, well, Wallace was wrong in mid november, because Davis was very close to going to Miami....I think he would be at Miami if one of their coaches didn't leave

RDS's public profile states that he currently lives in Buford, Georgia, near Atlanta, but that he is originally from Lancaster, Ohio.

With all of the interest in Mission Viejo High School football team this season, I thought that I'd post a link to their website:

RDS's info also stated he is a preacher. Perhaps he is a good freind of Ryan Williams' father, who is also a preacher. Not sure, don't really care to bring him out. Just thrilled to have MV2! MV3 would bring this class to a Top 3 lock in recruiting rankings (which are almost meaningless). I just want a big time QB now! MS, RS, JF...

quote:what was hinds told during the recruiting????:End Quote

Rocky was told he would have a chance to compete at the QB position during his recruitment by USC. However, that does not mean he WILL end up a QB.

He's quite raw and will be a big-time work in progress.

Also, why hasn't anyone mentioned that Bemoll might have lied? Everyone knows that he wanted to go to USC as bad as a 5 year old wants to go to Chucky Cheese's on their birthday. Maybe he is still harboring bitterness?

Just another take from a respected, objective and long time poster on this board.

More Info

I just read that RS has Ohio State over the guys from the north. So even if we don't happen to get Mark then you know we don't have a bad second option either ya know? I still think Mark will end up a buckeye IMO, just based on the fact that Ohio State has a better chance for him to play and also Ohio State has gone to a BCS game the past 2 years. Plus not to mention 106,000 fans every Saturday. Either way tho with RS or MS we'll be in the top 3 in recruiting and we'll be set with either one in years to come.

accusing a buckeye commit of being a lier based on nothing, and who ever said bemoll wanted to go to USC? All i ever heard was he wanted to head east.. Are you a USC fan? cuz im sensing some seriously unhappy vibes here...

Infact the whole idea sounds retarded.. why would he lie about what his FRIEND is about to do especially if he is gonna be proven wrong in a week... maybe you are just 12 years old... or a michigan fan im not sure which...

I hate to blow up a scarlet-veined lad like you Soldier, but....

Rivals on Kevin Bemoll (2/24/04)

"USC is my top school, that's where I've always wanted to go," Bemoll said. "You could say they're my childhood favorite, I've liked them as long as I can remember and the way they're playing right now, why wouldn't you want to go to USC. I'm hoping to camp with them this summer and I'll also be going to the Nike Camp at San Diego State as well."
But, hey, I'm willing to forgive Kevin for his prior indiscretions.
