Mirror Lake Jump (official thread)

Hey just so I know what time does a large group of people actually show up, and how tight is police security?

People will be there all evening/night. Usually around 10-11 is peak time.

As far as police go, usually bike cops will sit on the sidewalk along S. Oval looking down towards the lake, just making sure nothing gets out of hand. When someone lit a UM flag on fire the cops just laughed. As long as you're not drinking or fighting I can't imagine they'd do anything.

Who's going down? I'll be there but I'm going to have to be pretty intoxicated to jump in. With the cooler weather and rain, it's going to be nipply.

Mr. President, be a pal and warn Billy H. Harrison not to come. He's still getting over that last case of pnuemonia.

Ok I am back...It was honestly one of the craziest things I have ever seen. You could hear the people screaming clear to 4th street. For those that don't know that is like 10 minutes away.

I did not jump in, but went down there and it was fuckin' nuts...

The Jump

I was feeling nostalgic this year and decided to go see the Phantom Band do a Midnight Ramp. Wow my memory must be fading that was insane. People everywhere you could hardly get to the lake. I didn?t see one instrument or band person.
My senior year they lined up on the ramp and we cheered outside the stadium.
I got home did some research on the tradition and how it has morphed and found this thread plus a couple of old Lantern articles.

Indeed tradition lives on and the students are just as crazy.

Hotties

Hotties? There are always hotties but I was surprized how few people were actually topless or bottomless. Seem my senior year there was more nudity. Yes plenty of bikinis but that about it.

But thats not why I posted. I had to post a message with my signature image. I am a Ribbid Fan.
