Mister Simpson and Michigan depth chart (split from Eugene Clifford thread)

All-American
And I'll give you one big reason why NOT Tsun....Mister Simpson. Mister HATES it up there...hates the staff, the school, the air...everything.

That's the best thing I've heard in a while. I think the days of having Benedict Woodsons going to Michigan from Ohio is coming to an end. I keep getting the impression more and more that Lloyd is a John Cooper clone.

He's a good national recruiter, but bad local recruiter, and burns reputations with known highschool coaches. Because of that, he's forced to look around the country.

I tend to agree with you, but Ohio has so much high school talent that it is impossible to keep it all...Take Mister for an example...he wasn't even offered by OSU...but the important thing is that Tressel has put a virtual lock down on the cream of Ohio's talent...as long as he does that, the rest of the country will be looking up at OSU on the top of the polls.

Go Bucks!

"How dew ye kno? Dew yu talk to him on ze phone?"

Seriously though, is that true? If Mister hates it so much how come he didn't transfer to UC or something. If Mister is really that unhappy I think it has to do with playing time and the staff wanting him to move to fullback. Kind of a logjam at RB right now and I don't see Mister being a factor at RB in the immediate future. Hart will probably stick around for his Senior year, Grady as well- and he's never going to pass either of those guys. Jerome Jackson has a solid hold on the #3 spot in '06, so Mister is looking at being 4th string at best at RB. Even then he's probably behind 5th year senior Elijah Bradley, and then you've got two incoming class of 2006 4* recruits who play the RB position pretty well in Carlos Brown and Brandon Minor, and who both could get the leg up on Mister. From the sounds of things looks like Carlos already got the leg up on Mister, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Brandon come in in the fall and pass him up.

I wouldn't question H&G about anything dealing with the Colerain program...

And I've heard some things about Grady's status that aren't favorable for him receiving lots of PT this year...

Do tell!!!:pimp:

Grady may no longer be second on the depth chart....and that might be a ploy by the coaches to motivate him (recall that Kaiser was listed as second string behing Pugac for awhile....) or he just may not be the second best RB in AA...either way I doubt Grady is feeling super excited about the situation...if the rumors are true that he has slipped on the chart....

If Grady has slipped on the chart that would be due to one of the following 3 things, and one of them is not good in my opinion.

1) Grady is underperforming and coaches are fed up with his attitude and are trying to motivate him. Not Good!

2) Jerome Jackson is really putting it all together as a senior and just elevating his game to another level. GOOD.

3) Carlos Brown is turning heads with his athleticism and speed. Michigan hasn't had a tailback with the kind of legit home-run gear that Brown has since...(*crickets*) well, it's been a real long time. Coaches are seeing the light and realizing that it's ok to have a guy with some speed playing some tailback. GOOD.

Welllll...I heard Brown's name....but to be fair it sounded a bit like a combination of options 1 and 3. I don't think Grady is doing amazing things but Brown has been off the chart....

It sounds more like Grady hasn't quite picked it all up yet and Brown might be doing a better job of picking up the play book and running with it.

but who knows? This time of year information like this spews out from all directions....some of it true....some of it not so much.

well...if you must know...

Mister's best friend at Colerain was Matt Shulte. Matt is currently playing at Capital University in Columbus. Matt and Mister talk...oh...did I mention that I am friends with Matt's mom?

Mister actually wanted to transfer to Capital but LLLLoyd got wind and asked him to stick it out one more year on the promise of increased playing time. Mister will stick it out for one more year...I would not be surprised if he transfers after the season, however.

so...In my best Ving Rhames voice from Pulp Fiction: "Feel better, motherf****r?

They haven't had any speed at runnning back since Tyrone Wheatley.
