MLB General Discussion (Official Thread)

Remember kids, getting baked and putting whatever comes to mind on Twitter is a BAD idea....

Woke up this morning to see Josh Hader is trending on Twitter not because of the three-run bomb served up to Segura, but because people have unearthed a hundred old anti-gay, anti-minority tweets from his account.

This is undoubtedly the best news Ryan Braun has heard in years, because now he's not the most hated player for the Brewers.

Those tweets are 6-7 years old. I can't believe he didn't delete them at some point, like say once he became a Major League pitcher. Sooner or later, someone was going to find them.

Obviously, it's a good thing he has an arm because the brain is definitely in question.

Lots of chatter around this one today.

Braves broadcasters rip on the Dodgers for wearing t-shirts during BP.

I linked the article above even though it was more of an opinion piece so I could quote this part right here:

Baseball has a youth problem. MLB desperately wants to gain young fans, but allowing regional sports networks to continue to hire old white men broadcasters who seem to hate today’s game is only pushing them away. When guys like Joe Simpson have nothing good to say about the game and decide to criticize players for being comfortable during PRACTICE, it’s not helping anyone.

It's an opinion, not fact but I tend to think they are on the right track. Hell, I am an old white guy and a lot of the different team announcers piss me off to no end for this exact type of stuff.

Marty and his fuckheaded kid were going on the other day about how old school discipline is what the interim manager has brought back to the Reds and that's why they were "winning" again.
