Movies that should have never been re-made...

I haven't seen Ladykillers, but it's a Cohen Bros. movie, and they're the best. Is it that bad?

I didn't think it was that bad. I have not seen the original so I cannot compare the two. It had some funny parts, but it definitely is NOT one of the Cohen's best pieces of work...

Agree with everyone that Oceans 11 is a GREAT movie!!

Have to agree on Planet of the Apes.

I will throw out Get Carter, Godzilla, and Shaft as some of the worst. And The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake was kind of disappointing. Some of my favorite remakes are Cape Fear, The Bourne Identity, and Oceans 11.
Cape FREAKIN' Fear?!? holy dog shiat pyle!

That was one of the worst movies I have ever sat through in the theater in my entire life..... I wanted to see JFK....everyone else wanted to see cape fear.... they all admitted they should have seen JFK..... dumbarsses. That movie plain sucked.

One more to add (both to the thread and to my post count :tongue2: ) on the good side, "Red Dragon" was a very, very good re-make, IMO of "Manhunter". Better than the original perhaps.

I loved Manhunter. But I didn't think Red Dragon was a remake of it. Never saw Red Dragon so I'm not sure.

wow...I will have to respectfully disagree. I thought the original was pretty good, but DeNiro made the new version into an awesome remake in my opinion. Plus it was one of the last movies Gregory Peck was in.

I never saw the original so I have no comparison in that regards... only can go on what the deniro version was...

he was pretty buff for that movie.... I was surprised he was able to get in that good of shape. Not even DeNiro could help that movie IMO.

Only one movie that I saw in the theater that was worse than cape fear.... and I can't even remember the title. It was so bad... it was the only movie I have ever walked out on. Left about 20-25 mins in...... At least I was able to sit throught Cape Fear....(though not without laughing)

I can't believe I paid 3.99 to see that garbage on pay per view. Even my wife said " that sucked"

:so: <---- our looks to each other after the movie ended

I think that little story belongs on the "Stuff you wouldn't normally admit to thread"

Hey, How was Devine secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood?

I missed that too.

I thought the Man in the Iron Mask with Leonardo Di-Crapio was also not nearly as good as the original. I have yet to see a Phantom of the Opera near the quality of the silent film, the Island of Dr. Moreau was terrible, and Psycho was of course an abject and total disaster.

On the other hand, I thought The Thing and The Fly were good.

One movie that they are remaking now that I think they should just leave alone is Charlie and the Chocolate factory. That movie was one of my all time favorites growing up and now they are remaking it with Jonny Depp as Willy Wonka:roll2:
