Moving to South Carolina

I have SC in my sales territory so I drive all over.

Out of those areas I would take Columbia. Forget Spartanburg. Greenville really is trying hard to redo downtown and it appears to be working. Columbia would be the runaway winner if I was choosing.

Charleston would trump all of them of course......

I've got to make a decision tomorrow regarding a permanent job offer around Greenville/Spartanburg. My gig in Boston is only funded for one more year, so this is an offer to get out early with an offer in hand.

Does anyone have any more information regarding the Greenville/Spartanburg area?

Probably not what you wanna hear, but when I was in Charlotte for a few months, lots of people talked bad about Spartansburg, thought it was dirty, etc

according to city data, Spartanburg has more than twice the crime than the US avg

We ended up moving to Spartanburg almost three years ago...

If I had to do it over again, we probably would have chosen Simpsonville, Greenville or any number of small towns outside of Spartanburg. Spartanburg isn't as bad as the perception has it. We live in a nice quiet neighborhood and there are several really nice pockets around the city, but there are also some parts that aren't very good either.

We really like the Upstate as cost of living is great and the people are generally very nice and the commutes are fine if you work in Gville but live in Sptbg. I would recommend it for sure.
