Music City Bowl: Florida State v. Kentucky (-1.5)

1270-The-Team: The sports radio station that is very nearly all 'Noles, all the time down here, is now saying that about half-a-dozen Seminole football players (maybe more) will end up being suspended for the Music City Bowl (and possibly the first two games of the '08 season) for the recent academic misconduct fiasco involving academic "advisors".

Some are even suggesting that the "half-a-dozen" number might refer to starters, and that the number of suspended players is double that or worse. That part sounds iffy to me at best... just reporting what they're saying on the radio down here.

Free Shoes U...night before christmas.

Twas the night before Christmas
and all through the house,
35 players suspended
what happened to 5 star Fred Rouse?

The stockings were hung
by the chimney with care,
in hopes that Test Answers
would be inside of there.

Up on the roof
there arose quite a clatter,
It seems the NCAA
had caught wind of the matter.

Bobby Jumped from his bed
and threw up the sash,
his team and recruiting
were about to be gashed.

And what to Bowden's wondering eyes
did appear,
Twas the NCAA
Bobby's heart filled with fear.

Old Bobby shook his head
he had seen better "DAZE,"
a two (2) hour Exam
Aced in minutes by Geno Hayes.

The NCAA
were not jolly old elfs,
the Noles' only defense
they reported themself.

The facts were quite ugly
no institutional control,
coach blathered "dab gummit"
for Christmas just Coal!

The turnstyles quickened
Tricketts line was exposed,
Drew will run for his life
without the "tender eared" Rose.

McCray to the Tigas`
Holt switched to the Canes.
Blount picked the Ducks
the Class being drained.

Once upon a time
Christmas in tally was fun,
Mark Richt coached the offense
before Bobby hired his SON!

To the top of the department
Football in free fall,
Suspensions, Suspensions,
suspensions for all.

Almost no bodies left
to pull old Bowden's sled,
when the fat lady sings,
will the program be dead?

The Noles heard the investigators exclaim,
ere they drove out of sight,
The Noles are the next SMU
time to turn out the lights!

Florida State president: Lack of oversight led to cheating

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) ? Florida State's president attributed an academic cheating scandal to a lack of oversight by athletic department officials, an inattentive faculty member and a rogue tutor.

"The violations focused on a poorly structured online course, lack of attention to detail by a faculty member, and insufficient oversight by the athletic department of one rogue tutor ? all coming together to result in a 'contaminated' class," Wetherell said in the statement.

Damn that "rogue tutor"; the tutor is probably still pissed off that he/she didn't get any free shoes.

I sure hope Kentucky wins this by 2 or more. I don't know how I keep getting more vcash to bet, but I've gone all-in on this one like 3 separate times.

I've got a lot of v-cash riding on UK (well when you don't have much to start with, it doesn't take much to be a lot ) and I'm getting a bad feeling about this. I have a feeling FSU will rally around their persecuted brethren and UK will have read too many newpaper stories. Of course, I've always been a "that glass is nowhere half full" type of guy :smash:
