NCAA Football 12 + Rosters

Right now I'm doing a little test to show how unrealistic the dynasties have become. I'm going to sim a bunch of years with affecting anything myself. I've done 4 years so far and Bama has 3 NC's and Florida has the other.

Considering the way the last five real NCs went, that part actually looks like a plausible sim. :(

I don't want to buy it because this series is so freaking frustrating, but I'll probably end up buying it anyways.

This is where I stand

Ahhhh, NCAA12... the only thing that might force me back in. I have been able to hold off buying a new PS3 since my last one stopped reading disks.

This year I might actually be able to hold off, as long as they don't get their ass in gear and make REAL improvements to the game. They so ruined recruiting last year I never came back after my PS3 died.

But like always... I will probably go in with no expectations, then I will watch all the improvements they are doing and start getting excited and get close to buying a PS3 & NCAA12 and get into the dynasties again and drive my wife to divorcing me.

and then realize a month or so in that the "improvements" suck.

Yeah, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. After fooling me for 4-5 years... you would think I would learn by now.

So this year it might actually work. And by 'work' I mean wait til all you guys get the game, all you guys tell me it is great, I get the game a week after release then a week later finding out everyone thinks it still sucks.

This was the first year in at least half a decade where they did make major improvements instead of just adding sizzle.

Were there still bugs? Sure, but overall they finally stepped up their game.

Now I wouldn't hold your breath for next year (as most of the changes were part of their 4 year cycle of big changes), but I think they stepped up their game this year.

Most of the issues this year are server related.

The gameplay improvements were substantial.

Until we see double and consecutive hit tackles like we did in the last generation, I will not be satisfied... Those would qualify as major improvements in my book.

what do you mean? they have multiple hit tackles......I hit a guy and he's about to be tackled, then my dipshit teammate comes along and starts a whole new animation where the guy with the ball falls forward for a few more yards. IT'S AWESOME!

Or...I can't believe how many times this has happened to me...I've got 4 guys about to tackle him, one wraps him up, another flys in and knocks the sealed guy off, all while the other two just stand there with their thumbs up their asses. Then the guy houses it. AWESOME.

Piney, quit with the sour grapes, get a damn new PS3, and get back into the dynasties, you rationalizing MFer. You know you're going to want to play as Braxton Miller. You just know it.

I actually don't play as Ohio St, too easy. Give me my Bobcats!!!!

I guess it's time for my annual late-february/early-march proclamation to never again buy this game until weeks afer its release. Then turning around and getting fired up about possible improvements and making multiple attempts to buy it early.

March 8, 2011 - I will not be buying this game until, at least, on month after the release date, and all of the flaws have been sufficiently exposed.

If EA came out and said, "Listen. We all know Madden's our cash cow. All we're doing with NCAA is including the 2010 Pro Combat uniforms, a new touchdown celebration, and probably updated rosters," I'd still go to the midnight release. I freaking love NCAA 11.
