NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

A 10-point 4th quarter lead is nice, but Jimmy G just isn't very good. The moment the Niners had to rely on Jimmy to carry them to points was the moment they lost the game. Being up 10 in the 4th is an advantage, but when the opponent has the most explosive offense in the league there is always a good chance that they will come back.
Sorry if you have the ball 2nd and 5, with 5:47 to play in the 4th, you have plenty of opportunity to win. It was 20-17 with the ball in your hands and 3 guys averaging 5 yards a carry (Mostert, Coleman, Samuel). He went pass, pass, bad punt. And left the ball in an MVP’s hands.

I hate football coaches. Call me simple, old school, whatever but just run the damn ball. It isn’t that hard.

(I was heavy on the Niners so I’m pretty angry. Oh well.)

Fucking crazy that he didn't learn from the falcons SB collapse. Pulled the same bs

After digesting what I watched last night, I've come to the following conclusions:
  • Patrick Mahomes is the real freaking deal. Been that way since he was in college at Texas Tech, and he showed it last night, fighting through an atrocious 3 quarters of football to turn it on. Even still, dude showed early on he was coming to play when he dropped the shoulder on that D-Back for the Niners and sent dude out of the game. That makes you believe in a player. Didn't see the same from Jimmy Porn Star, who did his best Kirk Cousins last night.
  • Niners fans were Shan-a-had last night just like Falcons fans were a few years ago. Dude went full Tim Beck last night, starting with the final drive of the first half. I might have to watch it again, but was I mistaken in seeing that the Chiefs didn't use their first time out until they were trying to run the clock out on the final series of the game?
  • Richard Sherman was looking for a red jersey #15 (being Crabtree), but lost count and forgot that Watkins wears a read #14.
  • Jason Mamoa had the best commercial of the night, but Brady's troll of Pats fans in the Hulu commercial was pretty good too.

Ugh. Strong disagree here, if we're talking about the same play where he fumbled out of bounds. He didn't do anything....a guy hit him in the arm. The announcers played it off like he just got rocked and he's so tough and blah blah blah. I'm not saying it didn't hurt....I'm sure it did. But it was his arm. Not even his shoulder.....his fucking arm. It dangles. It absorbs minimal impact by nature. That wasn't a tough guy play, that was a fluke where the hit looked brutal but ultimately missed it's mark.

I really like Mahomes, but there have been a couple plays like this during the playoffs where he either gets praise for not actually doing anything.....or he gets up and struts after not really doing anything all that impressive. Go be the best QB in the game, stop trying to act like you're a tough guy when you're not. That TD he had against Tennessee where no Titan defender wanted anything to do with hitting him for fear of a flag.......just take your 6 points and go. Don't flex like you're 300 pounds and you just rocked a guy. If somebody wanted to hit you they could have planted you into last Friday.

If he throws a no look pass on 3rd and 12 for a first down...do your thing. That's where you get to strut. Not when players are pulling up because they don't want to get fined for hitting a QB.

True - I'll agree the contact may not have been much in the grand scheme of things, but it was Mahome's willingness to put himself out there like that that gets guys geeked up in that situation. Showed that he was willing to lay it all on the line to get the W.
