Notre Dame (football only discussion)

ND better pray to touchdown jesus that the cotton bowl doesn't take them.

other possible matchups are either one of the oregons in the sun bowl, or maybe fsu, or miami in the gator bowl.

all of the above teams would thoroughly horsewhip ND.

True that, but it won't nearly be the pistol-whipping or the anal posthole-digging that OU or Texas would give them.

If OU played ND in a bowl, the spread would have to be 35. At least.

Miami might win just as convincingly, but they wouldn't score as many points...instead the punter would end the game at QB for the Irish because everyone else would be in the trainer's room or the hospital.

Yeah cuz anyone on ND's offensive line can block like that...

I'll say this...ND's only chance to win a bowl is to draw an ACC team and have them play like they all seem to play every other game...bad. In other words, catch them like Miami played tonight, or like GA Tech played against UNC.

Notre Dame quashes fans' efforts to sway football recruit

School quashes students' effort to sway prospect

By Brian Hamilton | Tribune reporter 11:10 PM CST, November 20, 2008

Manti Te'o, a Honolulu native and a prized linebacker recruit in the Class of 2009, will make a visit to Notre Dame this weekend.

And the Irish had to take action to ensure Te'o can make a return trip if he so chooses.

Notre Dame students hatched a plan to distribute about 8,000 leis outside Notre Dame Stadium at Saturday's game against Syracuse in honor of Te'o's visit, posting that plan on a fan Web site.

The problem? A concerted, organized effort such as that could be construed as an NCAA violation in which Notre Dame is publicizing a recruit's visit to campus and encouraging that recruit to attend the school. Once the Notre Dame compliance office received a missive about the plan, it bid the idea aloha.

Cont'd ...

Maybe, but when you made that first post you thought Miami all that and would beat the crap out of GT.

well

the sad thing is, Notre Dame will probably go 6-6 (they most likely arent beating USC)

and still get selected by the Gator or Cotton Bowl

it must be sweet to be able to go 6-6 and lose to god awful Syracuse at home and STILL be able to go to a pretty good bowl game

this team deserves nothing more than the Motor City Bowl or the International Toronto Canada Bowl

Most likely?

At 6-6, I think the Sun Bowl is about as good as they'll get.

they (ESPN) were talking about the Gator Bowl And Cotton Bowl reps both seriously "looking at Notre Dame"

would not shock my the least bit to see them take notre dame over a more deserving SEC (Cotton) or Big East (Gator) for the $$$

If that happens, I'm personally flying to South Bend and urinating on TD Jesus.
