An attorney for four Chicago businessmen contends six off-duty Chicago police officers assaulted his clients at a downtown tavern several months ago, and the incident was captured on videotape.

The businessmen -- identified as brothers Aaron and Barry Gilfand and Chicago Board of Trade workers Adam Mastrucci and Scott Lowrance -- say they were attacked without provocation while they were playing pool. Fine says officers officers responded to a 9-1-1 call from the bar but made no arrests and left after speaking with one of the alleged assailants.

Officer faces new charges in videotaped beating of bartender

A Chicago police officer accused in the videotaped beating of a female bartender has been charged with trying to intimidate witnesses by threatening to plant drugs on bar employees and arrest customers for drunken driving, prosecutors said Friday.

The charges, filed Thursday, include seven counts of official misconduct, one count of communicating with a witness, three counts of intimidation and three counts of conspiracy, Cook County State's Attorney's office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton said.
