With the 24th pick in the 3rd round of the draft, the New Orlean Saints look to strengthen their wide receiver squad after having lost both Joe Horn and Donte Stallworth. The Saints look to add their second East Carolina University Wide Receiver onto the field to play along with Terrance Copper with their next selection:

The New Orlean Saints are happy to select:

Aundrae Allison Height: 6-01/8 | Weight: 192 | 40-Time: 4.39
aundraeallison.jpg

Official Bio

Strengths:
A smooth athlete...Ball skills, balance and body control are superb...Has excellent hands and makes both the routine and tough catches...Speed is good, albeit not great, but he plays faster than he times and has a burst...Very elusive and runs well after the catch...A deep threat who can stretch the field vertically...Will work across the middle and in traffic...Very productive...Has potential as a return man.

Weaknesses:
Not a great route runner and needs to pay more attention to detail...Not much of a blocker and isn't very physical or aggressive...Takes plays off and work ethic is a question...He only has two years of DI experience...Has some durability concerns.

Notes:
Prefers to go by "Drae"...Considered coming out after his junior season...A JUCO All-American at Georgia Military Academy who officially enrolled at East Carolina in Jan. of '05...Might not project to be a true #1 receiver at the pro level but can be an excellent #2 option...Doesn't get a lot of attention but he has quietly emerged as a top pro prospect and how high he goes may surprise most casual observers.

With the 25th pick in the 3rd round, the New York Jets select:

Craig Davis, WR, LSU

With narrowly missing on Tony Hunt, NYJ still is not high on the options at DT, and chose to go BPA. Craig was overshadowed by Bowe at LSU, and is a good value pick, showing up in the 2nd round of many mock drafts.

Well that works well then...With the next pick of the NFL draft via Baltimore (McGahee trade) the bills select
Fred Bennett CB 6'1'' 198 lbs from South Carolina

With the loss of Clements the bills are in need of some corners...the bills are extremely high on youboty and like what they have seen so far but depth is a primary area of concern...in the past few years South Carolina has produced some great DB's including current bill ko simpson...he will take him under the ropes and teach him about the NFL and what you need to do to be successful...even though he still has some work to do his potential is very high and the bills were shocked he was still on the board...

San Diego and Piney are on the clock

I almost picked him this round. Even had his name typed in before erasing it and picking Rufus Alexander. Nice pick-up.

datish is a terrible pick, he isn't even that good

I'd hardly call that a terrible pick. Sure Satele may be the better center, but Datish has versatility, and the NFL loves that. He finishes plays, the NFL loves that. I don't draft with scarlett glasses on but a third rounder for DD is not outrageous. You act like he's a turd. He'll be a fine pro. It may take a couple of years, but he'll be fine.

If i'm in that spot, I'm taking Satele, but that's not a knock on DD.
NFL Draft Countdown - March 17 Mock Draft

76. SAN FRANCISCO 49'ERS Doug Datish C | Ohio St. | Scouting Report Not a flashy pick but he's extremely versatile and will add depth at center, guard and tackle.

77. PITTSBURGH STEELERS Samson Satele C | Hawaii | Scouting Report Jeff Hartings has retired and right now they don't have a sure-fire replacement on the roster.
