In the NBA you can almost call a foul on every play. I think it is getting very similar on college pass plays concerning holding on the OL and PI on the defense. There's grabbing, yanking, and pulling on almost every play. I have no idea how the referees decide when to call a penaily and not call a penalty. If they are only calling the penalties that they actually see then they are incompetent and should be fired. In many cases I do think they try to just even out the calls. Midway in the 3nd quarter they called a punt catching interference on Corn when Smith-Njigba caught the punt. All the fans booed and the announcers called the call "questionable". I told my wife that there's going to be some calls on Ohio State to even it out. Sure enough there was, Ohio State got a couple penalties called that stopped their drive and forced a punt. The bad news was that the score was 20-10 and had Ohio State scored on the drive and went up by 3 scores it would have been big.

Anyway I believe that some players are getting frustrated with the inconsistency of the calls:
He's seriously the most held player in college football. Rewatch any game and just watch him. It's ridiculous
