OH LB/TE Michael Ferns (Michigan signee; transfer to WVU)

Michael Ferns - Yahoo! Sports

Then, just feet short of the goal line, Ferns slowed and walked out of bounds at the 1-yard line. Everyone in the stadium was stunned, except for Ferns' teammates, who instantly knew what he was doing: He was setting up a teammate to score a fitting touchdown in memory of his late father, who had died just two days earlier from a catastrophic stroke.

Pretty cool thing for Michael to do. I lost my Mom in July to a stroke so this one hits closer to home than usual for me.

Things have changed a lot since Ferns commitment to tSUN. The tSUN "mystique" of a rising program has burned off with the rising sun. There's a new sheriff in town who can roll the tape of the second half of THE GAME. And the new sheriff needs line backers.

While I agree with you and would love Ferns, I thought the feeling from this was Ferns preferred the "family like environment" that scUM was selling, versus the all business mentality at OSU. Nonetheless he'd be a huge get, there are a lot of big 2014 LB candidates.

Well, Michigan does seem like a "family" environment to me.

Love to see that we are keeping the pressure on. Even if Ferns sticks with scUM, I love that we are going to force Hoke to fight to keep any recruit we want from Ohio. Plus Ferns seems like a great kid and is a fantastic player, so obviously I would want him in the '14 class for that reason alone. If not, we are already set for a killer crop at LB with McMillan, Garrett, Booker, and Berger all looking very good for us.

Similar to when Fickell showed up at a wrestling meet for Dymonte. Staff doesn't care about the odds or even the perception. They're still going to put in the work and see if they can pull out a miracle.

Either that or they are making their presence further known to coaches across Ohio. Football factories will always love high profile coaches showing up on their doorstep.
