A second look at what's left from Saturday's game:
May as well break down the only thing that kept Michigan State in the game. What exactly happened on the Spartans' blitzes that helped create Michigan State's two turnovers for touchdowns? MSU blitzed all day, and the Buckeyes often handled it. But not on those plays.
First, the interception.

Well, do you want to face LSU in New Orleans? As oppossed to not meeting them, not being in the NC game, yes. And, until OSU wins some games against SEC teams you have to expect this kind of reporting. I wonder if some of the people that are most upset by this article are the same ones who want to see Notre Dame beat Michigan, or Penn State lose to Slippery Rock. TOTAL conference strength matters in rankings and in bowl bids.

Part of the problem is that the Big 10 team has to play in the South or on the West Coast. While that doesn't explain last year's meltdown, when both teams had to travel quite a distance, it is something that needs to be addressed IF the National Championship is going to be decided by bowl season. Every one of the BCS games was established to boost tourism at a time when there wasn't much industry in those areas and less than 50% of the population lived there. That's over.

Now would LSU, Oregon or Florida like to play Ohio State in Soldier's Field?

If the NFL can play important January games in outdoor stadiums, where you're suppossed to play football, then so can college teams and if these games are suppossed to determine NATIONAL rankings, then they need to have REGIONAL settings.

Maybe it won't stop losses like last year's BCS and Rose Bowl losses, but it will bring about some parity to the NC system and bring some revenue back to a region that has done so much for college football.

If we have to play LSU on their home field, then that's what we'll do. No different than the Rose Bowls all those years. (before some anal-retentive tells me that the Rose Bowl is UCLA's home field and not USC's - I know that already - but it's still their home town so therefore a home field)

If there is ever a playoff system, then maybe the home fields of the higher ranked teams should be the game sites.

Bottom line - our O came out unfocused in the second half, and I think they learned their lesson.

This defense is good enough to carry us to the NC game, if necessary.

PSU will bring the heat next Saturday. How we handle it will determine the game's outcome.

Giants Stadium and, eventually, New Meadowlands Stadium, would be ideal places for tourists to go to a bowl game on January 1st. It could be a way to attract tourists and such from parties and the parade, and then just bring em into a stadium for a huge football game. It is also big (80K+ for Giants Stadium, 82,500 for the next stadium).

Was out of town for the game and watched the DVR of it last night.

My thoughts:

1) The Defense is getting better if that is possible.

2) Boeckman led his receivers better on deep balls.

3) Glad to see the TE's get utilized more.

4) Our physical conditioning looks to be paying dividends in the fourth quarter of games.

5) Hartline is an animal out there, sacrificing his body.

6) What was up with all of the random yellow telestrator marks on the screen during the game?

7) That's one of the worst Brad Nessler called games I've ever seen. I love Paul McGuire but think his awkwardness really stifles Nessler and Griese's chemistry in the booth.

8) I honestly don't think Penn State has a prayer of beating us unless we give up turnovers for scores like we did this game. :smash:

Good win by the Bucks.

Query for those more adept at analyzing the game:

After reading some criticism of Boeckman's decision-making on the interception, what really happened on that play? After watching it a couple times, it looks to me like he made the right read, just made a really poor throw. Thus far, he's made that same throw to Hartline under serious pressure on several other occasions this season. Is that valid, or am I missing something more on that play where he made a really poor decision?

I also think he read it correctly but just made a terrible throw...it was a good 3 yards behind Hartline...he is finally starting to come along and all QB's have their growing pains...

now we can only hope that he has learned from that because the crowd this weekend will be unlike anything he has seen...itll be a good test to see how comfortable JT is with TB and to see just how far he has come along

Boone's girlfriend cut his hair off while he was sleeping? lol

Finish a bit hair-raising for OSU
By JON SPENCER
For The Advocate

Ohio State cut it a bit close Saturday, and offensive tackle Alex Boone never saw it coming. It reminded him of the sneak attack earlier in the week by his shears-wielding girlfriend. "I'm a sound sleeper, and when I woke up it was gone," Boone said, mourning the loss of his shoulder-length locks. "She was jealous because I may have looked better than her. Can you believe that?"
