Game Thread Ohio State 30, Minnesota 7 (final)

After week 4, Minnesota is the only conference team with a record below .500

Somehow, I don't think that bodes well for them.

They are also last in the conference in turnovers, with 16. No other member of the Big 10 has had more than 10 turnovers.

Their turnover margin is -3.0
per game...
The Gophers are last in the conference in:
  • Passing Defense
  • Total Defense
  • Scoring Defense
The Buckeyes lead the Big 10 in all of those categories.

The Buckeyes also lead the Big 10 in Passing Efficiency Defense. The Gophers can thank Todd Boeckman for the fact that they are not last in the conference in that category. His performance against Northwestern has the Wildcats at the bottom this week.

The Buckeyes lead the Big 10 in Net Punting. The Gophers are 3/100th of a yard ahead of Illinois for last place in Net Punting.

Looks like it will really be the GOLDEN Gophers in late September.

:sick1: Is this still the plan? Does anyone know what it's supposed to look like? Is it going to be as bad as Purdue's yellow home uniforms?

In case you're still wondering...

Yes, Minnesota is dead last (119) in the nation in Total Defense.

I hope Ohio State can get their offense moving, then. I'm a little disgusted that Ohio State couldn't even score a field goal in the fourth quarter against Northwestern. If Minnesota watches game film of the fourth quarter, Ohio State may score negative points.

Ummm....

Minnesota has given up more than 500 yards to every team they've played.
  • Bowling Green
  • Miami (Ohio)
  • Florida Atlantic
  • Purdue

That will pretty much do it for me as far as pregame analysis goes.

I'm left with the burning question of what would give if Minny's defense played ND's offense?

License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations.

Man, free to kill gophers at will.

To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint.

And a varmint will never quit - ever.

They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong.

So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower.

And that's all she wrote.
