Game Thread Ohio State 33, Washington 14 (Final)

Sounds good to me. I'll take underdog or prohibitive favorite over "anything but blowing this team out is a loss" any day.
It'll be even sweeter when we win and have more materal to grind in the haters (few, but loud) at ESPN.

I bet we'll be picked to blow this game by many of the "experts" I promise you someone on the ESPN circuit will rant on why washington will beat OSU

Washington is putting a hurting on Boise State right now. I can already hear the media and Husky fans now......God it's going to be a long week.

Yeah, I was thinking the same exact thing. We'll hear all week about how we are going to lose because Washington has played two terrible defenses and looked good while doing so.

Let's not hype our defense too much. Yet.

The thing that really impressed me was the improvement from week 1 to week 2. The D had a pretty average game against YSU. Didn't really do anything special and they weren't attacking. Today, they looked angry. They had that same attacking mentality as the '05 D. I know it was only Akron but we held them to just 70 yards of offense. That's impressive no matter who you are. And they were put in tough spots all game long due to the 5 turnovers. To put that into perspective, USC and their vaunted D allowed Idaho who started a freshman QB over 250 yards. Idaho was picked to finish near or at the bottom of the WAC this season.

I don't think their performance should be downplayed.

Having only seen about 3 of UW's 8 quarters so far here is my .02 fwiw:

-They have benefitted offensively from 2 teams that have poor foot speed, take poor angles and are poor tacklers.

-Their front 7 will be far better than our first two opponents.

From what I saw today if we play great defense, pass protect on offense and just come out throwing we should be ok. Don't even fuck with trying to run first Tress, we can't do it. I'll leave the whole issue as to why the fuck not for other threads.

Defensive slugfest, team that limits errors is probably the winner but we should have a pretty healthy advantage in ST's and HC. However everytime I try and get positive about our chances I'm reminded of all the TO's, penalties and shitty running against two opponents that are nowhere near as good as who we play this week.

At this point I'll be happy and kinda suprised if we win. You just can't look like we have 2 weeks in a row on offense and tell me we are a legit top 10 team right now.

It's pretty sad that with blue-chip recruits at RB, and the big horses on the line we're looking to the inexperienced passing game for our offense. However, I agree. The run blocking has been pathetic. Beanie started running with a purpose, but the blocking really didn't improve.
