Game Thread Ohio State at Oklahoma, 09/17/16 @ 9:00pm ET, FOX

Hats off to Tim Beck & Ed Warriner.

Those guys took a ton of heat last year for their play calling issues. They absolutely killed it last night. In my opinion they shut it down early, but I'm sure it was something Urban and then discussed at halftime. They gave multiple looks at different playmakers. It wasn't just a speed option or draw game - every single playmaker got in on something and kept the D confused.

Ohio State is quickly becoming WR U. I hope to hell we can keep Zach Smith another year.

If anyone needed a single clip to show the athletic difference between a mere top25-ish OU team and this Ohio State team, then there you go.

On that note, think of it like it's another team and how you would feel; OSU just had 3/4 of last years secondary go to the NFL and now this secondary is better. Very visibly and unquestionably better.

I'll tip my Block O cap to any coach that can recruit, develop and reload like that. Thank Woody it just so happens to be our guy.

Upon review, OUs OL got away with a ton of holding. I mean so does OSU, but we are talking about take downs not called. I don't believe they got called once for holding.

Also, OSU crashed their OL upfront. They disrupted almost every play. Most of OUs big plays came on Baker getting out of the pocket, or misdirection causing LBs to overflow.

PS Robert Landers can play football.

It also helps when the perimeter blocks someone (and the OL too). Neither happened very consistently last year.

What a game. We all knew how talented this team was, but I don't think anyone expected them to be this good, this soon. And the scary part (not for us :biggrin2:) is, they have so much room for improvement. Just a super fun team to watch and they're only going to get better. What a time to be a Buckeye.

OSU needs to make Schiano the highest paid DC in the country by a large margin to at least entice him to stay a couple of more years. Our secondary hasn't looked this good in awhile.

I keep going back to 1998 as far as the last time I had this much confidence in an OSU secondary because it was simply manned by 4-5 guys who were that much better than anyone the opponent could run out there.

Watched it again and a few things..

1. Need Damon Webb to step up a bit... he's been picked on the last few weeks.

2. WE gave them 14 points with a fall down and then giving up the kick 6.

3. We could've thrown the ball or ran the ball for 300. It's just we didn't need to throw it.

4. OU was criminal in committing penalties

5. Mike Weber and Samuel were amazing

6. We destroyed a top 15 team without Dontre, Booker, or Conley who left basically just after the first quarter.
