Ohio State Men's Ice Hockey (2019 B1G Champions)

So, Fredo whacked the only coach who ever brought them any success in their program's history. I guess their upcoming coaching search will show us if they really are a "hockey school" or just the bottom boy twinkie in a prestigious conference.

As someone with a nephew that attended the MU Hockey camp for a couple years and who has been to a few games at their new arena, most of their fans are pretty bummed today. It was clear he was just in over his head vs. the Colorado/Minnesota schools and couldn't pull recruits from out west.
This was a considerably more difficult league than the old CCHA, and he never got a foothold in recruiting.

Like I said, this coaching search will go a long way towards showing exactly what their place is on the food chain. Realignment came during that window where they were a nationally relevant program, and of course they thought that it was their destiny to forever be up there. Their facility is nothing special relative to the other schools in that league, and they have by far the least history and tradition upon which to rely. If they don't hit this out of the park, there's every reason to believe that they'll continue to be the perennial bottom feeder in that conference until, perhaps, they slink off with their tails between their legs for the WCHA. And that, my Georgian friend, would break my heart.

USCHO is predicting us as a 3 seed in Fargo with a pretty brutal draw: Denver in the first game and then, most likely, overall #1 seed St Cloud in front of their fans. If that is the draw, I put our chance for a second Frozen Four in a row at somewhere between slim and we're proper fucked.

If the Bucks don't play any better than they have the last 7 games it won't matter who or where they're playing. If the light comes back on anything is possible.

Not sure what happened but this is the wrong time of year to be searching for your game.

They were correct. Denver (Friday), then probably St. Cloud. I didn't even know American International had a hockey program.

Correctamundo, Ringo. This is still a team, particularly if Napier gets hot, that can roll through two weekends and bring home the trophy, but it's also a team that can get a proper Rogering on night one. Which Ohio State is going to show up?
