Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

Question for y'all....this early in the season, how come the matches get called when a 4-0, 4-1 score is recorded? Why not play all seven so more game experience is earned? I get it later in season, but say, VA is a long way to travel to play 4 and then go home....just askin'.

Former OSU Buckeye, JJ Wolf won his Rd 2 matchup vs ranked Diego Schwartzman at the Australian Open (though Diego is not a great hardcourt player).

He has a very favorable draw with a chance to be in the quarterfinals of a grand slam.

He gets American Michael Mmoh next. US players doing very well all over the bracket (besides top dog Fritz…whoops).

Don't want to jinx him but his bottom half of the bracket is shaping up really, really well for a potential deep run.

Cincinnati native J.J. Wolf defeated fellow American Michael Mmoh, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2, in third-round men's singles action at the 2023 Australian Open to reach the round of 16 at a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career.

Next up is former Florida Gator, Ben Shelton. He just turned pro in the last year after winning an NCAA title. Won 3 straight Challenger Titles (“minor” league) already. Interesting to get former college tennis kids to match up. Good for that side of the sport.

The kid is big, strong and has a heavy serve. Loves to attack net / serve + volley and he plays with a lot of fire.

JJ can outshoot him in a baseline battle. And I think some experience may help. It would never be easy getting into the last 8 of a major and this is a big test but JJ can play his game, pick his break spots and win.

Broadcast was giving a lot of love to the Buckeyes (THE Ohio State, OH-IO).
